I am thinking that too. That second stone is wire price $20,587, is a GIA XXX, BUT a crappy HCA score. The one I am buying is a GIA X, VG, X, HCA score 1.1 and for $20,000. So seems fair to me.

The AGSL report is not the prestigious DQD with light performance that's touted as tighter on cut grading, etc. - it's a DQR. They're completely different reports with different grading schemes - the DQR doesn't grade cut at all. They also offer a handful of other reports for various shapes that have other grading schemes - and they've changed a bunch of things over the years for the same reports - it's confusing trying to keep it all straight!

As far as I know the DQR is still an option for vendors who prefer it over the DQD for RBs. I fail to understand why.

Yes, you're getting the slight discount due to the one VG which is fine. The HCA scores don't enter into the pricing, of course, since they are both GIA Ex.

(They didn't submit to AGS for the DQD because it wasn't going to make AGS0 is my guess.)

I believe he submitted to GIA in the hopes of getting GIA XXX, I color, but only got a X, VG, X, J. The diamond is laser inscribed with AGSL, so now he is selling it disclosing both reports.

I am fine with the cut, I didn't really *need* an ASG0 (especially because I didn't even know it was that much more stringent), so this is fine for the price. J is lower than what I wanted, so we'll see when I get it.
