I''ve read that many people here say to put all of your vendor deposits on a credit card, so you can dispute the transaction if you need to.

What happens if you''ve already paid off the balance? Can you still dispute it? We want to put vendor stuff on cards for ease-factor, but we have the money to pay for the wedding outright and would be paying off the cards at the end of every month. How does this work?
Thanks!

As far as I know that is fine.

I also pay off my cc bill in full every month, but when I had a problem with a vendor who sold me something that never arrived I contacted the cc people and they got my money back for me - it took 3 months before I went to the bank as the item was from overseas and so I left plenty of time for transport/customs etc before I decided it definitely wasn't coming.

You can definitely dispute even if the bill has been paid, but check the terms of your credit card--some say you have 60 or 90 days to initiate a dispute. I''m not sure if there is an exception for services that are paid for more in advance than that--might be worth calling the card to ask.
