Describe this woman's face in words.

Hi,

Feline beauty showing high cheekbones, almond shaped eyes with porcelein skin, sexy parted lips with that come hither look, and a heart shaped face showcasing her modern wispy hair style. An exotic beauty.

Looks like a cat to me. and sexy. Annette

Absolutely stunning! Gorgeous coloring with nice bone structure.

THIS! She DOES look like a cat. ..in a good way!

I would describe her face as androgynous. I see very masculine bone structure which I absolutely love!! I love the strength in her face.

ETA: Just read what you wrote, Gypsy; and I'd venture to say most/ many (?) Asians might say that this is not a tradionally beautiful face from an Asian perspective. She looks somewhat "fierce" as you've said, Gypsy (though again this might have been the intended look).

Hi Pheonix,
That's actually a good thing. I don't want 'pretty', I wanted striking and fierce and arresting. I'm going to tone down the beauty too when I describe her, so that it's not so immediately apparent. Full lips but not perfect ones like hers, plus a couple faint scars, one of which will bisecting her brow line. Things like that.

Circe, I do write. I have a bunch of half finished books running about. Just never actually finish them.

Thanks all.

I don't know if her face is hear shaped or square though... still trying to figure that out.

I would say square shape. It's definitely not heart. Reese Witherspoon has a classic heart shaped face, and this model has those incredible angles on her jawline. I'd say square.

Her cheekbones make her face look heart shaped. Her jaw, on the other hand, looks square.

I'm seeing triangular - with her wide set eyes and winged brows. I also see a 'mix' - she has an Asian look with Caucasian coloring. She would make a beautiful Viking!

Circe,
I've started writing another book (which I probably will also leave unfinished, like the rest) and I was looking for a striking face, and this one stood out to me as strong but feminine and potentially fierce.

Then once I started describing it, I ran into trouble so asked for help. :wavey:

I think she looks beautiful and exotic. But, the picture, itself, looks softened with lenses or photoshop, so it's hard to know exactly what she would appear like in person.

I think she's lovely. Pretty eyes, heart shaped face, great hair. Wish I looked like that, LOL!!! :cheeky:

First word that comes to mind is taut.

I feel conflicted because if I say something negative, then I'm tearing her apart. If I say something positive, then I'm perpetuating an over-photoshopped, unrealistic, unachievable beauty ideal.

Wow, what an ******* thing to say, VL. No wonder women have image issues.

I don't think that is fair FK. Firstly you can't pin women having image issues on me. Highly idealized and retouched images of women looking quite unreal may cause that, but not me. Secondly, how is my response an ******* thing, and "Botox" is not? And given that the botox reply came before and set the tone for joining the game why is is my fault? And why, when you have known me in this forum for years do you not ask me what I meant, rather than just call me an *******? Was the picture of the OP and I totally missed that? I don't know. If so I'm sorry, but I'd also like to say if you cant handle the response, dont put up a trick thread that is not upfront with its intent.
I didn't read what VL wrote as "*******" thing at all. I actually laughed out loud at the last part about the cheeseburger in fact. I actually thought the writeup was clever.

My "words to describe this woman" were "heavily photoshopped".

I would describe her as volupine.

Lauren Hutton, circa 1979 w/o tooth gap.

She's gorgeous! I figured it was a lipstick ad, but she's beautiful! Her skin is flawless and looks like a doll! She definitely has a striking face. I think she's a beautiful model and not thin at all.

She's certainly beautiful, if somewhat cold and aloof - mind you, this might've been the intention of the photographer with perhaps some photoshop.

Also, I don't know if her cheekbones are really that high IRL. It could be the illusion created by make-up, ie. shading, face-scupting (you'd be amazed what make-up could do) and/ or it could be the result of a "liquid face-lift". I know someone who literally has been transformed from very ordinary/ even less than average looking to a real model-like beauty with the aid of liquid injections, which are aimed at erasing most of the wrinkles and at the same time REALLY lifting her cheekbones (from her previous flat/ almost hollow face).

This model would turn heads, I'd say.

What do you think Asians find traditionally attractive/beautiful? Just curious.

I think this is the same model. Different look completely, but same model. Am I wrong?

It looks like the same model to me. Just the first picture was in sunlight and this one is definitely darker. I love her hair!

I like her better here. She looks quirky and like a real person. Like she has spunk. I'm now really curious what she looks like in daily life. Would she strike you if you saw her on the metro? She does have strong features.

+1. I am curious too as I've never heard of traditionally attractive features. The only common feature of late seems to be large roundish eyes with double eye lids, a sharp nose, longish and narrow face, and long straight hair.

Asians like oval to roundish face with small chins, and definitely no square jawlines.

Fascinating before and after pics: http://kpsurgery.tumblr.com/ Kind of sad because some of them were already really pretty, and now they just all look the same.

Goodness, they can take away that much jawbone?!?

I agree with AP1976 and AN. She has a heart-shaped face but not a typically heart-shaped face (like Reese Witherspoon's, as someone else has said); as the strong square jawline sets that off. She has an interesting face, that's for sure.

Wow!! Amazing transformations!! What is the tel no to call? ...Kidding, kidding!! :cheeky:

I agree, they all look plasticky and not natural at all - not beautiful. What I really dislike is when an Asian woman with a small cute nose turns to plastic surgery to end up with a long, somewhat too high nose. You can see that in the first two-three pics on the left in the website you linked, Julie. It just doesn't go with their otherwise Asian features and really "sticks out". How can anyone find that attractive?!! :nono:

I know someone who reads faces and I was contanstly being told/ read a lot about what Asians traditionally prefer and what they don't prefer. I say this with a caveat though: not everyone would agree ; but all you need to do is look at Asian movie stars and models and they all have the same/ similar features. The following are what I believe are traditional Asian beautiful features; in some cases, I will try and contrast the "traditional Asian ideals" with my own, so as to illustrate the point (not to talk about me). FWIW, I don't necessarily agree with all of them.

- big round eyes with double eyelids (small eyes are not considered attractive). I have almond shaped-eyes with double lids, not small but not large; and when I was younger, always wished I had bigger rounder eyes. One of my cousins has enormous round eyes and she was and still is considered striking by everyone in the family and friends alike.

- higher nose, somewhat longer and with smaller nostrils. A lot of Asians have a smaller and slightly flatter nose and they don't consider that beautiful. I myself have a slightly higher nose (though with not big nostrils) and my mom used to complain that my nose was too big and not terribly attractive (of course she wasn't putting me down, she was just talking casually). Larger nostrils are supposed to be a sign of the person being frivolous and wasting money away.

- higher cheekbones are definitely not considered attractive. It's considered too common. Asians prefer the Caucasian oval faceshape without prominent cheekones or one very slightly longish. Again, although I have an oval face, my cheekbones are on the higher side and I never used to love them until I came to live in the West.

- square jawbones are another definite no-no. It's a feature associated with the masculine gender and it's supposed to make a woman too harsh, unkind.

- big ful lips are again not attractive, not delicate enough; but too thin lips are considered mean and aggressive.

- too much chin is also too masculine.

I'd also like to add that a lot of Asians are not happy being Asians, which is unfortunate IMO. They want to westernise their face. I mean Western women are attractive with their Caucasian featues all fitting together. Asian women have Asian features, which are attractive in an Asian way and they should therefore not try to put Caucasian features onto their face. It just looks weird and unnatural, again just IMO.

Put it another way, imagine a Caucasian woman trying to put smaller single-lidded almond-shaped eyes onto their face? Imagine how strange that would look?!

The only exception is Eurasians. They have Western mixed with Eastern features and that is natural and almost every Eurasian I come across looks really exotic.

I definitely agree with whoever said the model's looks are vulpine.

to most Asians a beautiful woman must have white skins.

I agree that this woman's face is a little fierce, or a little feline. She does not look warm and loving IMO.

As far as what the Asian asthetic is when it comes to beauty.... I can only describe it as a preference for "cute" over "siren".

Take my husband for eg, he thinks Jessica Alba is the hottest thing since sliced bread, but Angelina Jolie is just okay.

Time to check out of PS.

Whatever you thought VL meant, your responses were out of line. An apology . . . a real one . . . should be forthcoming.

We're waiting.

Holly S that is very good of you to stand up for me. I think though, that I stood up for myself and explained my words enough, and that actually we all come away from this with a greater appreciation for the dialectics that differences, even when differences are only perceived, can engender. Regardless of whether Forte Kitty over reacted to a misunderstanding, or my description was crass, or neither, I am glad to know that Forte Kitty thinks me a close enough friend to tell me when she thinks I am being an *******. I am not being ironic. I have always respected and enjoyed FK on this forum and it really does make me glad that she feels she can be that comfortable with me. No further apologies are necessary from my perspective and I would hope the rest of the board will feel the same.
But I really am touched that you would stick your neck out for me like this!
