Designing my 20th Anniversary Ring

Revising this thread made me remember that I wanted engraving inside the band so thanks for triggering that! I asked for the word “vignt”, French for “20”.

Hey, just a heads up! It’s spelled incorrectly here. It’s vingt - hopefully it can be corrected or you spelled it correctly anyway when you sent the word to DK.

Also, I didn’t get any of these notifications that you even got your mold! I’m not getting notifications lately and it’s annoying. I’m excited for you.

Yeah, I’m really happy with how the baskets came out. The whole gallery just looks delicious. I spent a fair bit of time on the CADs trying to get the delicate look of the gallery just right and I think it paid off. I really like the way the tab prongs look too. The diamonds are well protected, but it doesn’t look like it’s going to be pokey and prongy at all. And the suite looks very cohesive. I was a little nervous about that, but it looks great and it was the right call to put Miss Perfect in the middle because she totally looks perfect in the place of honor.

I hope it will ship tomorrow??

Money shot is an understatement… this is THE MONA LISA of five stones

I love the tab prongs, they are perfect… the gallery is breathtaking. All your hard work collecting all 5 of those treasures and the hours of thought that you put into this ring was worth it. She’s got daily vibes … she’s pretty enough for an incredible evening gown and casual enough for lazy Sunday comfy days.

She's beautiful. And definitely looks comfy and not prongy. My experience with DK is they ship the same day that you pay them. I assume that would be the same for International (you're in Canada, right?).

I got a video that shows the whole ring and it’s so beautiful One thing I was nervous about was whether the diamonds would look uniform (enough) and they look so goooood! The setter did such a great job. David said they were able to obscure the chips/inclusions in Sally and Rita by placing them right beside prongs. And I think the setting with the v-prongs and tabs really helps obscure any wonkiness. I’m so happy with how it turned out. The finish on the ring is great.

I don’t think I can share it until DK puts it on his IG??

Thank you for coming along for the ride! Such a huge part of the fun of these projects for me is sharing them with people here and this was an epic project for sure! It’s been basically a year since I started this thread

I think I hit the balance I was hoping for between beauty and comfort. Back in Oct when I started it was six prongs on each stone and prongs at the end. It looked fine, but I just knew the prongs would bug me. I took a design break and really thought about it for about 6-8 weeks and that’s when I settled on this design. I suppose the proof with be in the pudding for comfort but I’m really hoping. Your warnings about the importance of comfort were loud in my mind!

I’m very curious to see how I end up wearing this ring, on which hand and solo or with a band and whether I will wear it more than my three stone. Fun!

I agree about the pics, the gold in particular is usually very washed out.

Just to add, @Dreamer_D , that you have inspired me. Now my head is now spinning on a ring setting for my 5 baby K Quadexes - and I'm in still the midst of that pendant with Caysie!
