What inserts are you including with your invitations? Here is what I''m thinking or what I have so far...

- RSVP postcard (of course!)
- Travel Information
- Accommodtion Information

What else? Should I include something about possible activities? (fishing, zip line tours, etc.) Or, something about the welcome reception? (I was thinking of adding that to the welcome basket later - haven''t picked a location yet). What else would be helpful to the guests/travellers??

Thanks!!!

Hi ROL,

We are putting all of that info and RSVPing on our website. I think with all the information that is required for travel (and I like to give lots), a website will work best. I am about to set up our website next week so I don''t have an example, but things we are going to include which you could also include on the inserts are accomodations, transportation, local activities, maps, a description of the area and why you choose it/what makes it special, etc...What I like about a website is you can continually update it and there is so much info you can put on there.

A month or two before guests leave I will probably mail them a packet with maps, restaurant recommendations, what to pack, detailed driving directions, etc... I know your wedding is in Mexico (like mine) so I was even going to show signs of pictures of road signs like topes = speed bumps, etc since most of our guests will likely be renting a car and driving in Mexico for the first time. I was also include other tricks of the trade like how to avoid being scammed (policia, gas scams, etc..)

Anyways I hope that was helpful.

We put together a welcome booklet with all sorts of useful information in the welcome bags and handed them out when our guests arrived.

We provided a welcome message, a place for guests to write each other's room numbers, list of events, sight-seeing in the area, contact info (hotel, embassies, hospitals, etc...), practical information (tipping, driving, water, making phone calls, electricity, etc...), and english/spanish translation of commonly used words.

For our wedding invitations, we didn't add anything more than the RSVPs. Guests already had accommodation information from our Save the Dates and website.

Edited.

I sent out a packet of information about our cruise and travel agent with our save the date about a year before our wedding. For the actual invite I sent just the formal invitation and RSVP card. I really like my invitation because they were made for a destination wedding so right on the invitation you could place information about your wedding. Here is a link

I then sent out another packet of information about the cruise and what to pack and how to get to the pier and park to those who RSVPed yes to the wedding. On the cruise I had a welcome bag delivered to everyone''s cabin with goodies and a "Welcome Aboard Letter". The letter had the names and room numbers of all guests, an invite to our cocktail reception, details about our wedding day and about Bermuda. Let me know if you would like any help.

Congrats on your destination wedding!

Our semi-DIY invitations for our destination wedding included:

Wedding Itinerary (so everyone had a timeline of the wedding day)
Resort Map (so everyone could find their way)
Reception card
RSVP Card and stamped Return Envelope

This is the linky to my invitations...

We sent out information packets about 3 months before the wedding (which was also about 4 weeks before the final deadline to book travel) to get people excited about the trip and give anyone that was on the fence a bit of a push in our direction. THis s the linky to our information packs which DH and I made in both English and Spanish...they were a huge hit and I saw several people were carrying them during the trip!

Finally, all of our guests received a welcome bag at the resort that included a tote bag, beach goodies and a welcome letter thanking them for coming and a listing of all the other guests where each could write the room number for each other. I have photos of the welcome bags somewhere, but I can''t seem to find them...I will search for them.

Good Luck! I''m sure your invites will look gorgeous!
