I'm very close to purchasing the following diamond for $17,600 and wanted to get any advice on cut, etc from those on here. It's eye-clean and is a 2.0 carat, I, SI1 with no flourescence, very good polish, excellent cut and measures 8.22x8.27x4.87. I'd mostly like to hear people's impressions of the scope images and the cut measurements provided. Any advice on their impressions of the cut are appreciated and if the price is appropriate.

Here's one more scope image provided.

to me, it's a poor choice of diamond.

1) Poor outline. Not round enough
2) Poor aset image. excessive blues in middle is a no-no.

I would pass and keep looking. The images look poor / wonky, and I'm 100% sure you can do better.

What is your budget? What other specs are you looking for? (color, clarity, etc.) Does it have to be 2cts, or is there some wiggle room?

I'm all ears for diamonds. My budget is really anywhere from about $15K (if I think I'm getting a good deal) to about $18,500 or so. I could go slightly higher but I'm trying to keep the total budget under $20K, including setting. Generally looking in the 2-2.25 carat range, H or I color, VS2, SI1, SI2 (only if eye-clean), no/faint fluorescence, and an excellent cut. Basically, am wanting something fairly large that sparkles a lot, and will trade those two for lower clarity, so long as I'm not seeing anything with the naked eye (i.e., no blind spots). I've looked at J color stones and feel that's where I can start to see a color difference, so don't want to go below I on color.

Just FYI, fluorescence is an advantage in an I color stone! It can make the stone appear whiter whenever there is a UV component in the lighting! I would be seeking fluoro if I could find it when looking for I color.

That is a very strange ASET image... based on the proportions I would not expect to see that. But the IS shows the same thing...

All of those look nice, but are slightly higher priced than I'm hoping to pay. I'm trying to keep the diamond to the $18K range or so. That said, I could possibly stretch to pay slightly more.
