I had seen a thread somewhere regarding diamond brusiing. I have a stone that has a chip on the girdle.

On the post I read that the stone for sent out for recutting and cleaned up. I am interested in doing that, but what is the protocol? How do I know how much I will loose to clean, is there a specific steps to be taken to make sure I get the same stone back, etc???
Any recommendation on who to send it to?

Any information is really appreaciated!!

Second idea would be to have Richard Sherwood or Rockdoc take a look at it and recomend a course of action.

Strmdlr do you mean post a photo or send it to them?

I don''t know if i can take a close enough shot to see the damage....

OK, my next silly question. How do I do that?

Is there a number to reach them or address. I would like to talk to them.

Thanks

RocDoc, if your out there, I would love to know how to contact you too.

Looking to discuss the bruise and the repair process. After the purchase of my new stone with the GIA report, i pulled out the report for the stone with the bruise and it is EGL. The stone looks alot darker to me than the report says. Is this the report that alot of threads complain about being too soft? I wonder how little i would loose on the size to get the stone cleaned up??

Thanks.

Thanks Strmrdr
