Hi all,
I've been searching PS for answers regarding my question already but cant find a decent answer.
So I'll ask you guys myself ..
I got a 3.10 carat "NATURAL Fancy Vivid Yellowish Green" Diamond (Cushion Cut).
It's in for recutting to Radiant Cut (approx 2.70 - 2.90 carat) - Ideal Cut.
My question is which color of Gold (mounting) I chould choose to enhance the Green color, and NOT the Yellowish?
Any ideas??
As far as I know for example Demantoids (Green) look amazing in Rose Gold - enhance it's color and sparkle.
Emerald's with Bluish/Green - Green/Green color looks AMAZING in White Gold - make the color more Vivid.
Emerald's in Yellow Gold (I dont like that) enhance the "Yellow" in the Emerald - but it does look warmer in color.
I know it do excist Green Gold but I've never seen a Green Gemstone in Green Gold before.
Anyone? Pictures?
So which color to choose to enhance the Green Color of the Diamond??
If White Gold is the best I'll go with PT950 Platinum.
To make it really simple, if anyone understand the Original Color Wheel (I dont) - it's no problem to answer me.
For example: Purple occupies a position on the color wheel halfway between red and blue. Pure gold is itself a highly saturated yellow. Set a purplish-red ruby in yellow and the yellow neutralizes its complement blue leaving the stone appearing to be pure red in the setting.
So which Gold color neautrilizes Yellow and/or complement the Blue (Yellow + Blue = Green)???
I'd rather go with a "Bluish Green" diamond than a "Yellowish Green".
Or is the answer so easy and simple as Purple Gold would make the Diamond look Greener?!
If I understand correct, yes - hence the Rose Gold, Red Gold would make the Green hazy (washed out)??
