Thoughts? Both are Radiant Cut

Both are Color E - and clarity VS1 Both are 1.7 carats and both are equally priced.

Dimensions on #1 (the larger one) - 8.07 x 6.22 (ratio of 1.30) (faces up much more like a 2 carat)






Dimension on #2 - 7.44x5.94 (ratio of 1.25)

I like the ratio and cut better on the second one. I am sorry that is the case since it is smaller than the other.

it is not a bowtie. It does have some panels but they said it was not a bowtie. They said that the first one is probably cut a little better. but the performance in real life is extremely similar. At first they liked #1, then they preferred #2 because you are getting the same sparkle, and more size. Check this video from his iphone.

What kind of setting is it going in? Hard to tell much from that video other than the size difference.

umm...sort of like a novo style ...in other words...just sidestones. no channel setting.

now i'm at a total loss...I feel like I can never win in this process. i finally find a radiant stone with at least some decent red in the ASET and now you tell me to go for the other one...with less red and more green.

There's no winning....well, if you end up buying anything, that IS a win!!!! The second one to me just looked like everything was a bit more even, and had less darkness on it. If you look at the video, compared to the bigger one, it's much brighter. They're both beautiful, and if I didn't know anything about diamonds, I wouldn't know the difference and I'd consider the bigger one just because of its size. It all comes down to what you prefer. You provided asets and a video, so what's being shown is what's being reviewed. Ultimately, it's up to you!

The first one is rather elongated to be set by itself without a diamond on either side of it. But that is just my personal preference. I just prefer the 1.25 ratio more. The first one mainly has more red just in the center. Let's see if others comment.

I agree that in the video, the smaller one is a smidge brighter...but what sort of lighting was used? Will the result be different under different types of lights?

A three stone would be gorgeous! Or it could be set E/W for more finger coverage....Still thinking the second one is a better stone. If size matters, than I'd suggest the first one and if it's in budget put it with some other stones, and if not, E/W would also be gorgeous!
