I recently got a stone from the internet for an engagement ring and the setting from a local jeweler. It's a very unique setting at a decent price so I didn't bother asking other jewelers to duplicate it. I recently found out that since I didn't buy the stone from him, this jeweler wants $200 to set the stone. This seems very high for something he would've done for free if I had bought the stone from him. Does anyone know any reliable jewelers who can set a stone in-house in Northern NJ, near Paramus or Parsippany would be great. I hate to pay $200 but I don't want some bang-up job from just anybody.
