Sounds like you made a terrific choice and I can''t wait to see the finished product! Here is a neck shot of mine that gives you an idea of where the 16" falls. It is actually a one carat solitaire that used to be in a ring and my jeweler added smaller stones around it. The whole thing is encased in kind of a white gold bezel with the chain running through the back.

Sounds like you''re on your way! And I think that G was a great choice too.

Sundial your pendant is really gorgeous and impressive !! Thanks for sharing.

Oh Ellen, I am so impatient to see the final jewel ! The process of choosing and buying is already very exciting but now I can''t wait to see it !

Do you have any idea how long before you get it?

Tim didn''t get back to me yet. He told me he doesn''t have the pendant in the store at the present so he has to order it but I don''t know how much time it will take. Plus, he will contact Tolkowsky to see what can be done with the chains colours.

I don''t know if I have to put a hold on the stone. I told Tim that it is the stone I want and he said he will get back to me for instructions about the international wire transfer. I just hope nobody will snatch it in the meantime

Sundial''s pendant sits perfectly snug just below the collarbones and it is exactly the place I wish it to sit as well. However, her basket is set on the chain itself and not below like the Tolkowsky so I think that a slightly shorter length would be perfect for me. Tim suggested that we make it in 16" but with a special clasp that allows to adapt the length of the chain if needed.

I would call them right now and make sure they reserve it, as I was just searching for something similar and it''s not reserved yet!

Many many thanks Ellen !! I put it on hold immediately after reading your post and it did disappear from the site.

Since it is the first time I do it, I didn''t know exactly how it works so I had little worries for a while

I am so glad I came across pricescope !! The people here are just wonderful and so kind and knowledgeable. I am impressed !! In Switzerland, when I speak about Idealscope, H&A, crown angles, etc..they look at me as if I am a specialist of diamonds, especially in jewellry stores they don''t even have a clue of what I am talking about...the only thing they say is "oh, you are in the profession ??"

Here we can share our experiences, get help from people and help others, there is a real and strong community feeling here, without geographic boundaries and that is really fantastic.

Aw, it was my pleasure, really. I too am so grateful for finding this place. I learned SO much reading through hundreds of posts here when I learned I was getting my upgrade and started researching. I vowed to try and give back what I''d gotten.

And about jewelers not knowing what you''re talking about, that happens here too.

Ditto!!!

Sounds like you made a great choice. I can''t wait to see the photos. Did they say they''ll do two chains for you? One WG and one YG?

Thank you to everybody for your precious help in this diamond project

I am so impatient to share with you my experience when I get the pendant !

Stone Hunter, they were quite flexible and they were ready to make the basket in WG and the chain in YG. I could have also ordered 2 chains I guess. However, on second thought, I ordered the whole set in WG because I don''t have any WG chain but I already have a couple of yellow chains that would go along with the pendant.

This way, I can see how the WG chain fits my skin. My guess is it won''t be too bad because the eye will be mainly attracted to the diamond (well hopefully !) and not that much to the chain itself.

If it comes out eventually I prefer wearing the basket with a YG chain, then I can always use a chain I already have and save a little money
