HI:

I'd love some small bezel set earrings. Mine are 2.12ctw and are in martinis' and I am very happy with that size.

cheers--Sharon

My guess is that the most common earring size is actually much much lower than any posted. When I walk around and see *real* studs, they aren''t that big. I would just go for which you like instead of the most common.

I have a 0.50 ctw set and a 0.3 ctw for my second holes. If I were making a big purchase though (both of these were gifts, and i'm pretty young) I'd go for a full 1 tcw at least

- I don't think you can go wrong with that, although I definitely wouldn't pass up bigger (like a carat each

I think the biggest problem I am having with this issue is not necessarily size... the problem is having to wait so long to get them. I might have to have my ears re-pierced because I haven't been wearing anything. I'm pretty picky and I only want the real thing. I would settle for a really good fake but only for a little while. In the meantime I am torturing myself with pricescope and its vendors! I'm starting to realize that I am an all-or-nothing type of gal (though I'm trying to be flexible with the cz temps).

I'm totally an all or nothing gal. I'm saving up for bezel studs from WF. And it'll take me - as long as it takes me.

The waiting sucks, but I know that in the end, it will be worth if to have exactly what I want!

ETA: Diamondseeker - I had done some post hunting on the martini settings, and I thought the general consensus was as long as you don't sleep in them or have them on super tight, hole stretching isn't a problem. Did I miss something?

I read someone say they felt their already large holes were being stretched more by the martini. I think normal holes are okay, but martinis are going to sink farther into already stretched holes.

I'd like some little bezel studs myself!

I just commited to a .45 ct. round and am looking for a match, so my set will be in the .90-.92 ct. range. I had a hard time deciding on size so I went for the diamond that attracted me the most in my price range.

I like the idea of getting something that fits the budget and then upgrading when you are ready.

Good luck!

I wore CZ''s for years, since I was always afraid I would lose one -- plus, I didn''t feel the need to pay for the real thing.
Until I went to a black tie event and the lighting was real low, like candlelight.... there was a girl at our table with real studs and they were on fire, so sparkly... that''s when I decided I wanted the real thing. I was fortunate enough to have DH surprise me with 2ctw F studs for a birthday (I was totally surprised, as he did all the shopping himself!) They are the perfect size for me and my ears. I have a friend who has 8ctw (yes, that was not a typo... 4ct each ear)
now that''s just asking for some low-hangin'' lobes!

I have wanted diamond stud earrings for years. My husband is not into jewelry so I''ve decided to save for them. I''m trying to figure out my options, sizes, etc. One thought I have had is to get cz''s in a really good setting (maybe from Wink Jones?) and then replace them in a couple of years with real diamonds. I''m trying to figure out what size I should get.

So this is what I would like to know:

What is the most common size of round diamond stud earrings?

I have 1cttw princess studs. NO way I could do larger because I have small small ears! I think it really depends on your ears.

Mine are .36 ct in each ear and I like them quite well. My ear lobes are not tiny but certainly not big either.

Studs are my absolute favourite type of earring so I have about 8 different pairs. They range in size from 2cttw to 12cttw and all different shapes. The pair that I reach for most often though are a little over 3cttw, and they're simply perfect for everyday wear.

Jealous! Where are the pictures of these beauties???

I also have several pairs, the largest are 3.44cttw studs, which are for the moment *just* nice for everyday wear. However, i dream of getting bigger studs, like 4-4.5cttw!!

I am also getting several pairs of earrings reset into one pair, which would have a final total weight of about 8cttw. I can't wait to get my hands on those!!

Stud-wise though, I think you should just wear of whatever you feel comfortable with. It also depends on how large your earlobes are. Mine are slightly larger than average (I think?!). My tai tai friend has very large earlobes and her 6cttw look just fine on her, on me though they just look ridiculously large! For years, i wore 1.2cttw and then moved up to 2.03cttw which I thought were perfect and which I wore for several more years, until DSS seriously set in!!

Earlobe size is something to think about! I guess I have normal size lobes but a large head. Seriously.

I am leaning towards .7-1.0 carats right now but will need to go look at a bunch before I make any final decisions.

Man, I hate to wait
29.gif
and it looks like it will be another 2 years before I have anything on my ears.

I want it now!!! (throwing self on floor, kicking feet and wailing

mine are 1 ctw and that''s the max I''d go with my ears. I love the look, but my .70 ctw prob were a tiny bit more comfortable, if you don''t like to change your earrings much (like myself).

I really like smaller (.25-.4ct) stones for earrings and pendants. I much prefer just a touch of sweet glitter on the ears to honkers - it just doesn''t suit me. I prefer to save the bigger stones for rings, because those I get to see all the time!

Everyone''s different, though!

I have to say that I am surprised by most of the responses here. I really thought that PSer''s would go say "go big!"

It looks like I''ll be saving for awhile for these. It will be hard to say no to Starbucks and pedicures but I guess the more I say no to them the closer I am to having diamonds on my ears!

Thanks again for all of your responses!
