Diamond-Studded Mercedes Benz
This diamond-studded, mink-furnished Mercedes SL600, worth $4.8 million, was unveiled at a Dubai auto show to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Mercedes Benz SL550 in 2007.
The car is the property of Saudi Prince (Amir) al Waleed bin Talal bin Abdul-Aziz, one of the top 10 richest people in the world according to Forbes. Prince Waleed has 50 cars in his collection.

Talk about a carbon footprint!

Those just look like Swarovski flat back beads.. not diamonds.

HI:

WOT's up with the white furry seats??? Classy touch........ :o

cheers--Sharon

Yes, that's def not diamond. They're not 'set' with prongs, they're flat back beads that are glued on, and unevenly, too.

I just threw up in my mouth

Those "diamonds" are at least 1ct each based on the proportion of the symbol. Say they are real and they were glued facing down, the cost of diamonds alone would cost more than $4.8 million.

I thought they looked luike flat swavorski crystals but that's what the article said. But then again they always estimate celebrity e-rings way off as well.

Sharon:the article says the fur is mink.

4.8 million is probably what crystals would run you to stud a car I imagine. Those buggers are expensive!

I'm sooooo tempted to get a hot glue gun an *bedazzle* Billy Ray!

HI:

Awesome. Because everyone needs mink when it is 40 C outside.

cheers--Sharon

Yeah, those aren't real diamonds. The sparkle looks very Swarovski-like too.

I can't decide whether I'm appalled or whether I actually like it because it's so sparkly. One thing is sure though - it's probably a driving hazard when it's sunny out because it would blind people!

Hahaha!

The maintenance crew is likely to bitch about how much of a PITA it is to clean the car.

If not swarovski, are those H&A?

I'll bet he cheaped out and went I3 clarity!!! :wink2:

LOL That is what I was thinking! The SMELL eminating from those seats...ew!

It is a nice little twist though, putting the pavement on the car instead of the car on the pavement.
