Everyone's earlobe sizes are different, which makes the diamond stud size appear different.
That said, I have fairly small earlobes. I'll a little gal (US dress size 00)
Here is what a 1.7 ct diamond stud looks like on me. I don't think its that much larger (if larger at all) than what the OP wife's stud looks like. Granted this is not a super-ideal cut diamond and super ideals usually have better spread for their size (but the OP wife's diamond wasn't a super ideal either.)
So this is 1.7ct just in that one ear? It looks similar to what my wife’s size
Last minute decision! I was planning something else, but can't go wrong with diamonds as a present to my wife
Budget 10k-15K, but prefer closer to 10K
I would like at least 1ct per ear, eye clean.
Martini setting.
That is about all I know as all of this is new to me. Is is still possible to get this done or should I wait till next year when I have more time to research?
Appreciate any input!
So.... I'm going to break with the trend here.
Although super ideal cut VS+ stones are nice in studs, it's overkill and I would personally put more money towards weight/MM and less money towards cut and clarity.
The logic is that people don't look at studs as closely as they will look at a ring.
If you buy GIA Certified Excellent or Very Good cut stones of SI1-SI2 clarity and H-I color you are going to 'get a lot more bang for your buck'
Good luck!
I’m sorry... I’m having surgery 6:30 a.m. on Wednesday, so I lost the plot.
Which ones are you comparing? I have no problem doing Si1 for studs for clarity and with Whiteflash or CBI they are likely going to be eye clean so why pay for something you can’t see anyway?
