This is an interesting thread.

We basically kicked off our relationship with a kiss! We had been friends for 2 years, and one night he basically asked me if I''d be interested in more...the next time we saw each other, the following day, we smooched.

I do think age is a factor, somewhat. I know that in my college years, kissing was much more of a big deal than it is now. In my 30s, sex is the big deal, kissing is really nothing in the context of feeling like you''re giving something of yourself.

Hey, maybe we should poll who had SEX on the first date!!

Ha, just kidding...of course that''s totally personal.

We kissed before the first date!

We made out on the corner the night we met... our first date was a week later!

Hmmm... depends what you qualify as first-date!! We met at a bar through mutual friends, and he walked me home that night and asked for my number... I, being hesitant about leading him on when he seemed like such a nice guy, told him no!

I said I was sure I'd see him around again...

A week later, on Valentine's Day, we went out with the same group of people to the same place. I watched a zillion single girls hitting on him and all the sudden had this overwhelming surge of jealousy... he was supposed to be MINE! So flirting commenced, he walked me home again... and kissed me goodnight in the park just as it started to snow. On Valentine's Day. Seriously... could we GET any more sappy? My friends thought it was hysterical...

We started out our relationship as friends, and were living together before we started dating. So, no, we didn''t kiss on our first date . . . we kind of skipped past all of that and went straight to living together.

we did kiss on the first date. I was 17 and he was 18 and we were at a friends house party. I''d met up with him the week before when we were setting up my friend with his friend and I decided he was the one for me!7 and a half years later, we''re still kissing!!

LOL what a funny question!!

yes we def kissed on our first date! we were grown adults, it wasn't like we were furtive high school students trying to play hard to get...kissing was no big deal. it wasn't like a roving crazy tongue or anything, rather innocent actually...but a definite kiss. we both had a great time on the date, and we liked each other so why not. and he loved that i showed i was into him!

how it was done..it was like 'well thanks for a great time', hug and smooch and then 'give me a call and we'll do it again' and then i drove away! simple.

our next date was a week later.

We didn''t- but I think I kissed plenty of guys on or before the first date prior to DH! whoops!

Also this is how I define a kiss-

A peach is a peach,
A plum is a plum,
but a kiss ain''t a kiss,
Till he slips your the tongue!!!!!

My DH kissed me on the cheek and that was one of the things I really liked about him. I was not used to that (hey, I was in college and those boys are aggressive!) I thought it was very respectful and sweet. He got really sick a day or so after our first date (flu) so we didn''t kiss for a week or two.

LOL... Nope, he was my Professor and even though it was a date,l I was still nervous, as if I was going to be graded...LOL...

It was actually our 2nd date. But let me add, That our 1st date was a coffee date, on a Wed afternoon, we had a lunch date on Thurs, (he kissed me goodbye) We had dinner on Friday night and he kissed me goodbye before school on Monday morning when I finally left..LOL...

Wow! You guys are all so well behaved!

If this was a mainly UK site the poll would be who slept with their SO on the first date!

I met bf at a weekend house party on Saturday lunchtime and he''d taken me off for a walk by the rather distant lake by 3.30pm. We hid in the bushes from the host''s mother and felt like a couple of teenagers.

The following Monday, he invited me for Dinner in London and I managed to miss the last train home (accidently on purpose

) so I stayed the night. He was far too much of a gentleman - I have often teased him that he was meant to at least pretend to try.

Anyway, I got keys to the flat with a big bunch of roses after a month and moved in a couple of months later.

Two and a half years later I still get flowers every week - just because... and we''re still nuts about each other

I voted no, but FI and I were chatting online for about 3 months before meeting in person.
We met first at a coffee shop, and then our first real "date" was a few days later for dinner, and he kissed me goodnight, but just a peck, then the next date- wowza! i got a real kiss,

I''m a huge fan of kissing, and he is honestly the best kisser I''ve ever kissed. And I definitely am glad we found out (on date #3!) that we are physically compatible, I spent way too long in a previous relationship where there was just none of that chemistry, and the whole time I thought it was me.

So I refused to wait very long to find out one way or the other.

And I''m so glad!!!

labbielove, Strm and I chatted online for let see...met Sept 1998 and met for the first time in May 2000...and we still didn''t kiss on our first date ;} wonder if it had anything to do with my parents being there - giggle... It was like 4 days before he was to leave that we kissed for the first time - and that was an accident...I think... we were talking about Strm''s mom who had passed away, and he was really sad, so I leaned over to kiss him on the cheek and he turned his head just at that time...well, I will leave the rest of the story up to him to tell - giggle... it is his favorite I think giggle....*blush*

Yeah we did, and still remember it too.

We kissed over a year before the first time we went on a date! We met in college so we just kinda hung out and met up at parties or the bar, and kissed, for over year before we started dating. I can''t believe how many college aged people actually went out on dates!

We kissed on our first date.

I didn''t have a rule for kissing on first dates. It totally depends on how I feel about the person and the date. If the chemistry is there, why not.

hehe- what a silly question!

Oh yeah we kissed on our first date! It was a week after the night we met, which was at my friend''s bday party. BTW- we kissed that night too!
