Warning: long post
After weeks upon weeks of scouring this site, I finally posted my first question this week (whether to make a small upgrade to stone & setting or put the money into a much larger stone). I received a great amount of advice & pretty much had decided to wait and buy a larger stone with a plain setting.
Any-hoo, I have become addicted to this site and continued looking at old posts, and realized the stones that I have secretly admired (one family member and a few friends) are old cut stones!!!!!
I knew my cousins ring was a family heirloom, I just had never thought that the reason I loved it so much was that it was cut so differently.
I am know on the search for preferrably an omc or euc -- maybe transitional b/c it still has the chunkiness I adore.
My fav is colors in the K,L,M range, so warm and yummy
. I really don''t care for the whiter colors, even though they are "nicer".
I say all of this to thanks to everyone at PS for posting pictures and commentary about their diamonds.
I am sure I will follow with questions about how to evaluate these stones in antique stores
.
Thanks!!!!
