Yuk. No wonder I prefer to isolate myself and stay far away from people as possible in a remote country home.

I'm with you Sky. And that's one of the reasons I prefer animals over people in general. People can be rude and uncaring whereas animals accept you for who you are and love you anyway. And they never swear at you or abuse you emotionally either.

In a former job- child protection work. No surprise though, as we were there to investigate allegations of child abuse and/or remove people's children if necessary.

In my current job, very rarely. I work for the federal govt with some law enforcement agencies- sometimes they can use saltier language.

Me too. I find people in general somewhat disturbing unless they are emoting good will

When I worked for the "big-box" chain pharmacies, we'd all get cursed at on a daily basis... I used to think that, "...wow, I'll bet these crazy a$$ people don't act like that at the doctor's office!" Sheesh! :nono: :blackeye:

Now I work in a clinic, and I can tell you that the same people who act a fool in other places tend to act a fool EVERYWHERE -- even to their doctors. However, my clinic isn't contracted with Medicaid, so the foolishness and daily cursing has lessened significantly. Coincidence??? I think not. ::) #silverlinings ;))

I did have a lady cuss me out last week because she had a $50 copay on a $700 medication -- it was the first time I'd been "cussed really good" in over a year (since I started my current job)! I'd say that's a HUGE IMPROVEMENT! I'll take it!

Pardon my ignorance, but what is the Medicaid connection?

Haha! I am absolutely on board with you on that! People don't realize how much simple good will means to me. The friends I do have are very cherished by me and also the kindness of strangers.

I love animals too, but some can be like people. My husband, and several people I know have been randomly attacked by dogs.

No one's ever sworn at me when I've worked with the public, but I have certainly wanted to swear at some of THEM!

Ooh, that's terrible and I hope you both didn't get seriously injured. But yes, there are bad seeds in every species! But much much less in the C. lupus and F. catus than the H. sapiens! ::)

Thanks! Everything's OK. =)
