Do you consider diamond hoops a classic/staple piece?

My hoop project is finally, finally done!!

Got my babies two days ago and just had time for a quick pic (and when I look at the picture I am so annoyed at how I have managed to make them look... not their best :doh:) in reality they are beautiful, bright white and completely free of blemishes. And soooo sparkly! I love them!!

I may not post ear-pics - a bit paranoid about being recognised, but I love them to death and I am so happy and excited! I can see myself wearing these even when I'm 70!

Just for you I will :D but it’ll have to wait a few days. I had to put them away for a few days, I’m out of town for a few days. But when I do I’ll post them here and I’ll tag you guys so you can see them and then I’ll delete :D
 
Wow! Those are definitely blingy! We really do need an ear shot...can you try to get just your ear and hair on one side of your
face? I'd really like to see how much they show when you're when on the ear.

I will try! I’d like to get one ideally in natural light so you can see the actual colour and bling. It may need to wait until next weekend as it’s usually too late by the time I’m home from work.

My hoop earrings from India don’t look like that at all! Maybe it’s a north/south diff? These are the only ones I’ve got out of the bank right now - they’re tiny in terms of drop, but also super skinny. And the closure is… Pulling the ends apart a touch and guiding the post into the “socket” on the other side. No hinge, just relies on the gold to flex a bit. The sort you posted looks much more solid!

I know this was aaaaages ago, but just to say, my helix huggie is 5.3mm internal diameter, 1mm width and has the hinged closure with the "click" into the other side - all my huggies from India are like this (not that I have extensive experience - just three lol). They are really secure - I am lazy and sleep in whatever earrings I'm wearing, no issues at all. With the very tiny ones I am pretty careful with opening the hinge as I can imagine it would be easy to inadvertently force them apart too far and bend the metal, but I really like how robustly they close.
 
@lulu_ma @maryjane04 @tyty333 @MissGotRocks okay I’m posting a pic on here for you guys that I finally took today at work! I cannot get my phone to focus any better than this so this one’s all I got :doh:I do plan to delete this post in a bit so I hope you get a chance to see it before I do!

I’ve had them now for… 6 weeks? They’re my absolute favourite!! My other earrings feel lonely now since I’ve abandoned them all lol. I will say they feel a bit heavy on my ears after a few hours but I can get through a workday or an evening with them on. My upper limit for these is probably ~8h.

They’re so sparkly I can’t get a photo in sunlight because they just are BLINDING! The only issue is that they do tend to get dirty easily… occupational hazard of ECs. But I love the look of ECs too much to care. Just have to clean them before I wear them out to a special occasion :D

They look beautiful on you! Such a gorgeous contrast with your dark hair. I don’t think I have ever seen emerald cuts in earrings but they are really pretty. Great call by you and so glad to hear that you are getting so much wear out of them. Thanks for sharing!

Thank you so much!! I wanted ECs because I actually haven’t seen a pair of EC hoops “in the wild” before - the only two pairs of sizeable hoops I’ve seen in person have been rounds. So I thought it made them a bit more unique :D

I think I could have compromised a bit on the colour and clarity - IJ SI would’ve done me just as well and would’ve brought down the price by at least $1-1.5k - but this is a forever piece for me and this way the stones match all my other uncerted pieces.

I strongly recommend hoops if you’re thinking about them - I think they’re such a beautiful classy piece of jewelry and can just dress up or down any outfit. Like I wore them to work with no other bling and then wore them out to a party of 100pax at night with a bit more bling and they fit both occasions. I’ve had people comment on how they just light up my face and even make my chubby cheeks look thinner. They even make my oversize lobes look a bit more normal! I’m so glad that after two years of thinking about them I did it and it was absolutely worth it for me :D
