Yes, all the time. It has helped to just take things one day at a time, because then it's just $1k here, $500 there, etc. But when I scroll the whole way down on my budget spreadsheet, it's so much! For example, we saved up enough money to pay for everything, but then instead of taking the money out of savings, we're trying to pay for everything with our monthly paychecks. That leaves no money to save each month, but hopefully when everything is done we'll have the majority of that $20k we initially stashed away (instead of depleting it and coming out of the wedding with zero savings). But then I look at our budget and we still owe $13k on the wedding and we have one month to go! So obviously a good portion of that will need to come out of the wedding savings fund (we don't make $13k per month
) and that makes me sad. I've spent so much already, how the heck do I have $13k left to go?
ETA: My parents gave us $10k and we're adding another $10k. I would love to do it cheaper, unfortunately I live in an expensive area and it wasn't really possible
We really wanted to see all of our friends again and have a big party, but we're cutting as many corners as we can and only paying for the things that really matter to us.
