Do you think halos/pave are a trend that will go out of style?

Just wondering and need some opinions....

I love halo/pave settings but I''m afraid that they may be trendy and go out of style. What do you think?

They have been trendy since the 1800s... That''s a pretty good sign, I would think.

All styles and settings ebb and flow, even the classic, typically "timeless" ones. You could make yourself crazy worrying about it!

Just my humble 2 cents... buy what you love that is practical for your lifestyle.

I have always loved antique jewelry and the Halo setting gave me my dream ring. I think if this is what you love then go for it. I have never been one to follow trend or care if something I loved was in or out. If you love it then do it! My 2 pennies. GL

Hi! Halos and pave'' have always been around, and I believe they''ll always be around.

The honest answer is Yes. Yes, they will go out of style. And, they will come back in too.

The real question is - do you love that style? Then to you.. you''ll love that ring no matter what. And truely, that is what you want.

For example - maybe in 1989 you would ask.. "do you think gold will go out of style"? And many people will say - gold jewelery has been around since the beginning of time. No it won''t.

But anyone could show you some gold enagement rings and you would think "well, they are really not in style now". Does that change what the wearer of those gold sets thinks? No - if they loved it then, they''ll love it now.

And, for those who do care enough to "always stay in style" with their jewelery.. why... they just get it re-set!

I think the question is - do you love the style. That''s all you need to know!

I wondered this too, but every time I tried on rings, I was "pulled" to halos/pave. I get chills trying them on, and so I know in my heart that I will LOVE the setting regarless of a trendiness factor. So I agree with the others --- if it speaks to you, who cares? Just my .02

I love pave and I just got into the halo thing. Trendiness is the last thing on my mind. If you like it....go for it.

I''ve never been terribly trendy. I prefer to pick what I like, and if other people don''t, oh well. I have a halo, and I love it. I know that I always will. It''s a beautiful ring that is very well crafted, and I enjoy looking at it. Then again, I don''t particularly care if other people love MY jewelry. If you like them, have one. If they do go out of style, then you will simply be unique.

YES Trends go out of style. Just ask my 5 girlfriends who are sporting marquise diamonds with swirl ring jackets in yellow gold. All of them were married between 1985 and 1993. Maybe they''ll come back in style one day-- who knows? As for right now they''re screaming EIGHTIES BRIDE!!!

Ha Ha. We must know some of the same people.

I agree. Trends can be ''dated'' but they will come back. I''m seeing more and more new marquise these days, Albeit without the ring jacket.

I know just like the asscher cut, the halo was here before and made a comeback. I''d say the only ''safe'' setting from trendiness is the round solitare. Who knows. You can change settings in a few years if you grow unhappy with it.
