Does anyone else suffer from OCD when it comes to their e-ring?

Does anyone have the same problem as me....staring at your e-ring for so long that you start to find imperfections with the setting, or the prongs look off, or you think it is crooked etc etc? Other people think you are nuts right? I know that jewelry isn''t always 100% perfect and I just drive myself crazy for no reason. Am I the only one who is obsessed like this? Or do you suffer from the same thing? What do you tell yourself to make those nasty little thoughts go away? I love my wedding set and have been happily married for almost 7 years and I sometimes want to reset my engagement ring. You can find my indecisive SMTR thread here

But I truly love my current set, so why do I torture myself???!!!

Yep. I am anal about my rings and keeping them as scratch-free as possible.

lizzy- I really love the proportions on your set...

and yes, I feel the same way.. about my original engagement ring and the one I inherited. My original one I think sits a bit high.. and sometimes I wish it had 6 prongs.. and what if the band was thinner... :) the inherited one, I had the prongs fixed and the more I look at them, the more they look wonky and blobby and too big for their own good. I think we might actually drive ourselves nuts!

How long have you had it? It usually takes me a few months to get used to a new piece of jewelry- by that time most of the "flaws" kind of become invisible to me. I don''t always nitpick on new stuff- mostly only if I don''t 100% love it. Even then, I tend to get used to the small nitpicky flaws over time. The bigger picture, if I really don''t like something, doesn''t change, but the small silly stuff does. If you haven''t had it for that long it may just be you getting used to the piece. Also princess stones I think are easier to obsess over symmetry like that- it''s really hard to get them set perfectly perfectly totally square, from what I remember reading about them.

Very true LGK, the prongs sometime bother me. But I know I''m nitpicking and obsessing over the smallest things. I''ve had my e-ring for 7 years so plenty of time to settle. I chose the setting for my e-ring so I love the style, very classic. I think I obsess over things that I pick out myself more than things that are surprises. For example, I knew I wanted a pair of RayBan aviator sunglasses last summer. My husband surprised me and bought me a pair for my birthday. I don''t obsess at all about those. I love them! But had i picked them out myself i would have tried a million on and bought a pair, then wet home, went online, and found a million more pairs and second guessed myself. I like the control of choosing things but I think I wonder what if...after know what i mean? Weird.
