Hello everyone!
I have been reading and researching these forums for more than a year now – finally time for my first post! Even though I have been silent this whole time, I feel like I have been offered wonderful advice through reading these forums, and I sincerely appreciate it, so thanks!
I currently have a 1.53 ct stone from Whiteflash which I love, but already know I would like to upgrade to a 2 ct stone in the next couple of years. I guess that''s what i get from reading PS everyday
What I’m trying to figure out, is whether there is some wiggle room with adjusting the prongs on my current setting to accommodate the larger stone, or will the upgrade require buying an entirely new setting? I have done all sorts of searches on this, and can’t seem to find the answer. From what I can tell, the jump in diameter would be almost 1mm.
Part of the reason I ask is because I am considering a setting change, and I’m not sure it makes sense if I will just have to buy yet another new setting when I upgrade the diamond.
FYI - I currently have a Legato Sleekline Pave from Whiteflash that I love, however I have always REALLY LOVED the look of a classic solitaire (no side stones or pave) paired with a diamond band. I am at the stage of choosing a wedding band, so this is what is making me really confused!
Any ideas or suggestions would be appreciated!
