Does ritani use quality sapphires, and if no, alternatives?

I would like a ring with a lot of presence but I am not a Rockefeller so Ive decided to go with a sapphire engagement ring. Now I really want a 3 stone ring, all sapphires with a diamond halo - preferably bezel set. I know this is a tall order but I think I may have found the ring.

now my only concern is the quality of the side sapphires. i dont want to get a dark muddy center stone but i would want my center and my side stones to match. Could anyone who has purchased a piece of sapphire jewelry from them help me out?

and if they are of low quality is there anything i can do? could i order it with just the diamonds set? or is there another designer out there that makes a similar design? i cant go to the jewelry store they dont have any of these in house i would have to have them order it.

I have no experience with Ritani but have a few questions:

1. Will Ritani allow you to get your own center stone and side stones or you MUST have Ritani source them? Have you inquired with Ritani?
2. Define what "quality" means to you. Are you particular about the hue of blue, saturation, tone and etc or just an okay non-muddy looking sapphire is sufficient?
3. For the center sapphire, does treatment matter to you? Must it be heat only, unheated or you don't care? If you care, will Ritani prove the treatment level (or lack of) to you?

I take it that you want to source your own center stone? If you decide to go that path, you probably will have to source all 3 sapphire in order for them to be a nice match. There is a huge variance in sapphire colours and I would be very reluctant to have someone else choose sidestones without my final approval.

Been wondering about this too! I *love* the ring you have picked out - I have tried in on (all diamonds, if I recall correctly) and it is just breathtaking. Ritani's melee is so brilliant, I think it's the perfect compliment to colored stones, especially sapphires and rubies!

For a three-stone with all sapphires, I would absolutely insist on sourcing them all together, and not relying upon whatever might come with the Ritani setting. Just too many variables in color and saturation to take a chance like that. I think Ritani makes each setting when your order is placed, but you'll have to ask an authorized dealer to get the scoop on using your own sapph side stones.
