Watch 7 minute video.

'Dopamine Nation' is a great book!
Dopamine is FASCINATING and transformative to learn about.

I feel like watching this video is not going to increase my dopamine level. Don’t think I can do it, too addicted.:lol::lol::lol:

I won't click on a link -- even for BBC!

But I get it. It's a catchy new name for "just put it away already!" But maybe call it a dopamine "holiday"? Fasting mentally primes you that you're gonna have to binge the minute that fast ends...

@kenny - bought the book. Read it. Loved it.

As a psychologist, I thought this was a fairly new topic approached in a unique way. Her take on 'we don't all deserve to be happy all of the time - most of life is meant to be lived in neutral' was wonderful to hear; personally, I'm exhausted by the whole "I deserve this, that, everything" mentality - when, in the end, that level of "personal yumminess" leads to exactly the sorts of problems she articulates. Her take on the experience of pain - as someone who lives in pain - was a breath of fresh air and highly encouraging.

Thanks for the link, Kenny. I know a lot of people who will benefit from this, me included.

Thanks! I was considering this book, now I will go for it.

Interesting concept from the link. Two extremes though. While I can appreciate the clarity he seems to get from fasting, it must all come to a crashing halt the next day when he rejoins the program already in progress. Hopefully though the new thoughts and ideas that he uncovers during fasting will linger with him. Food for thought certainly!
