I like the torso better on #2 but I think it''s to poofy for you on the bottom. I also don''t like the transistion between the torso and the skirt. #1 just doesn''t look right on you.
Well, I like the *intention* of the first dress (period details, golden colored accents) but the actual effect of the gown doesn''t really photograph well. I think it''s the way it cuts you off at the legs and makes you appear shorter. The second dress....well, you''re petite and it really overwhelms you. Also, all I can think of is bubbles, bubbles everywhere. I believe it to be a trend that may look dated in only a few years.
I think you might do better with simpler, cleaner lines and minimal poof (GREAT for elongating petites!). Also something with very subtle draping around the waist to give you that hourglass shape. Food for thought:

Mori Lee, pretty sheath/mermaid gown with fluid lines, though I''m not a fan of the pleated ruffles at the bottom:
Tarlianna by Maggie Sottero. Unique and flattering.
I am going to have to agree with the majority here...the second one definitely flatters you more. You look like you have such a nice tiny waist in the second dress, whereas the first one just doesn''t flatter as much (especially the back). I like the look of the Maggie that Robbie posted too. Good luck, and if you try on any more, be sure to share pics!!!!
I think the first dress is not flattering, especially from the back. The second dress is not what I would pick for myself, b/c I like a more traditional skirt. But it looks very nice on you and is flattering.
Of the two, I vote for the second dress. However, I''m not loving the pickups either. I''ve seen them on other dresses where they look really nice, but maybe because they''re done a bit more subtle? I dunno... maybe I''m the wrong person to chime in... I tend to like things more simple. But I really like the bodice of the second dress.
I think you just need to try on more styles. You should try on other mermaid dresses if you like that style. Trust me... they all fit differently. That''s the style of dress I got and I tried on many!
