Holy that is GORGEOUS!!!! And creative!! And well-executed!! And GORGEOUS!! It's amazing how they were able to bend it without damaging it at all - labour-intensive I can definitely believe...
ROL, oh my goodness, I adore it I hope Grace enjoyed the project 'cause after seeing how well her bench did yours I wouldn't be the least bit surprised if she starts getting similar requests!
Could I request a pic of the underside of the brooch?

Yssie: I sent it back to Grace for a minor tweak (my wrists are a bit oddly shaped so it needed to be tightened a bit) I'll have it back on Saturday for pictures

Question...was that broach curved originally? I assume it must have been, but I am wondering why that would have been. It certainly made it work well as a bracelet!
Actually, it was not originally curved; it was completely straight. I asked Grace to make sure if it was not possible to bend it into a curve without ruining the design aspects; if it was not possible I would not have ruined a piece that was in pristine condition. Grace was very understanding about not wanting to ruin such a special piece of history-- and consulted her bench prior to any work being done. She reassured me it was possible without damaging it, it was just very labor intensive.
For anyone who was wondering the piece is signed by Wiliam Wise and Sons. There is a Museum in Brooklyn with their silver pieces.
