Haha... I am NOTORIOUS for talking with my hands, so I''m sometimes embarrassed when I get comments about my ring... I feel like I''m accidentally throwing it in people''s faces with all my flailing around!

But I agree with the others that it really does depend on where you are... I''m a therapist and when I''m talking with clients about issues with their love life, I sometimes turn my ring around just to keep the fact of my own love life from being obvious and unwelcome. Maybe just me being paranoid though.

Speaking of obvious sparkling rings and good lighting conditions, my fiance''s hockey season tix are in the section where the players'' wives sit... I have now found a new source of entertainment at the Flyers games!!!

Ah. I just asked my husband if he needs me to go to Home Depot on Mon. Yes we need a light fixture.

I''m never embarrassed by the sparkle - I''m only embarrassed if I think they aren''t sparkling enough.

I enjoyed reading all your replies. I went to Home Depot today (I REALLY did need to check on something, honest). Yes, it was great. I''m thinking the grocery store has them beat. I was there yesterday and as I passed this man, he made eye contact with me and said, "Your ring is beautiful." Luckily I live in a very safe area, otherwise I might be concerned with walking out to the car alone!

bae, if you haven''t already, try finding an elevator with pin lights in the ceiling.

I agree with others who love that sparkle and aren''t embarrassed-- at least not when I''m just out and about. However, I understand what you are saying and will say that I do get embarrassed when that happens in front of friends and their eyes keep following the ring bc of the sparkle.

I don''t mind it if they are just admiring it in a good natured way but at times it feels like it''s not necessarily a friendly admiration if that makes any sense? Then that''s when I feel bad and I don''t want it to seem like I''m showing off or make them feel any less of their ring bc they make comments about how theirs don''t sparkle the same way. THAT''s when I am somewhat embarrassed and want to hide mine.
