After months of lurking around and staring at people's beautiful rings, my bf finally proposed to me while we were on vacay in Bali island. The reason why I want to post these pictures (other than to show off my ring lol), is because when we were looking for real pictures of Blue Nile solitaires, I couldn't find any on google. I'm sure it's somewhere, but nothing shows up on a quick search. So I just want to share the specs and pics of my ring.
The setting is Blue Nile's Six-prong Nouveau Knife Edge. I've been wanting a simple thin solitaire. The prongs on this setting is more similar to Tiffany setting, for those of you who are looking for one. While the regular six prong knife edge is more of a straight line and high setting, this Nouveau one is more of a basket or a crown wrapping your diamond. I do believe that this knife edge is or look thinner that the tiffany setting. Definitely more knifey.
Here's the size and diamond specs
Ring Size: 4
Carat Size: 1.71
Color: I
Clarity: Internally Flawless
Cute: Excellent
Depth: 60.8 %
Table: 58 %
Crown Angle: 34.0°
Pavilion Angle 40.8°
Culet: None
Polish: Excellent
Symmetry: Excellent
Flourescence: None
HCA Score: 1.1
A lot of people would prefer a lower clarity and better color, but my OCD engineer fiancee likes to look at a clean diagram on the GIA cert LOL. I absolutely love his decision to get this diamond. The diamond looks really white, and it's great knowing that it is pretty much a flawless diamond. Here's some pics. Thanks!
