The trip was amazing. We had such a wonderful time and the memories will be with me forever. I still can't belive he was able to pull it all off without my knowledge - WOW...he is incredible. So sweet and thoughtful.

Oh my gosh what a wonderful proposal story! and GORGEOUS ring.. You could knock someone out with that thing! Looks huge on your hand.. what ring size do you wear? I just got done bugging my b/f about when we're getting engaged.. If he is planning something like that it would be so great! It would definitely be worth the wait then! How were you sble to just leave work though? Wouldn't it have been awful if you couldn't have left? LOL..

I just love it.

I forgot to mention so many things in the story... He had done so much prep work and didn't seem to miss anything. He had called my boss a few weeks ago to see if it was ok if he swept me away for a few days. He told him what was up and my boss was very cool with it. He had also taken my dad out to lunch - spoke with mom etc. He really covered all the bases.

I'm still in awe as to how he pulled all of this off without me knowing. He always treats me so well and plans such special things - but Wow - this was just amazing.

Look into sizing beads. It could help keep it put when your finger feels skinnier. I know mine's that way too and it bugs me.

My boyfriend is afraid to talk to my dad about that sort of thing.. Luckily my dad is also totally cool with it that way. My dad and I are very close, but he is not very "emotional" or "sentimental" with me. The last couple years I've bought him birthday cards that make me cry.. and I'm always disappointed when he DOESN'T cry.. oy..

I'm so happy to finally be able to post pics of my little sparlie. I have to say, as of this morning I had only been able to send around a few pics of it - as many as I could take last night (I was pooped). Anyway, the pics were all my mom had seen until I had a chance to run over and show her at lunch. She said (and I know most of us feel this way usually) that the pics (as hard as I tried) could not come close to showing the beauty of the ring and stone. I do not say this to boast - just that it's really unfortunate that I don't have a great pic and that it is just a beauty. Hopefully, when I get home from work I can take some outside - with the loupe as well and hopefully you can see how much it sparkles.

I truly LOVE the band. Hopefully I can take some shots to do it justice!

Mine had his proposal pretty well planned too but he said the little speech he memorized was just completely forgotten by the time he got to that.

My whole family knew, he asked my dad, brother (who couldn't care less) and my grandpa All my friends knew, and the restaurant had it all planned about 2 weeks earlier. It was super sweet but I HAAAAAAATE surprises, unless they are for anyone but me. He still got me.

Isn't the California coast beautiful? We think so too.
In fact we were down visiting Monterey when websailor proposed 8 years ago. He popped the question at the Shadowbrook restaurant (very romantic place) in Capitola (which is near Santa Cruz).
