Hi,

I would like some advice regarding to an engagement ring for my girlfriend.

My budget is around $2000 - $2500.

The features of it, more or less:
  • Shape: I have doubts, but probably round cut.
  • Color: at least "G"
  • Cut: at least "very good"
  • Carat: 1
  • Clarity: at least "SI1"
Is there any way to find a diamond ring with these features and my budget? I can think on increase a bit the budget or decrease some of the features, but not a lot.

Thank you very much for your help, I'm quite new in this world and I'm a bit lost :)

I found this one, but I don't know if it's ok or not: https://www.jamesallen.com/loose-di...-color-si1-clarity-excellent-cut-sku-19701474

Unfortunately you won't find a well cut 1ct stone in your budget. The stone you posted isn't eye clean and not well cut.

Do you know your gf wants an earth grown diamond, or are you open to lab grown? Or would she be OK with a smaller earth grown option?

Thanks for the suggestion!

My gf might be opened to lab diamond, but I would prefer earth grown one. If I don't find it I will go for a lab one.

That diamond that you posted is cool! However, I don't know if it has too low color.. not sure.

Are other shapes cheapper?

It's super important to ask her. What has she said about rings? Different shapes perform differently. You'll get rhe most fire/sparkle from a round, but some people prefer other shapes.

Hello and welcome to PriceScope, Iker!
Quick question: what is the plan for the setting that the diamond will be mounted to...got any examples or pricing yet?

Take a look at this one.

This looks nice!

I'm thinking now that with one of 0.7-0.75 ct would be enough. About shape, round cut would be perfect, since she wants it to be brillange, and from what I understood, this shape (with good cut) would be the most optimal.

Also, I would prefer that the price be around 2k, although I'm open to increase a bit the budget.

what do you think about this one?

That one is not cut well. The crown angle is to step at 36°. You can see that the center under the table goes dark on the en face view.

@kim N’s pick is really nice, although a bit above $2k.

I see.. however, maybe this is too much money :(
A little one would work for me as well (0.7-0.75 ct)

What about the one I linked above?

This one looks fairly clean...something has to give to stay in your budget. At sub 1 carat I think you can drop down to "I". Is this stone
"perfect"...maybe not for some but like I said, something has to give.

Adiamor settings are also on sell right now. Unfortunately, I cant see the prongs on this one to see if they are nice or not. There
are others.

Edit...looks like JA settings are half price right now too.

Thank you!! I’ll have a look at it!

Hello, I was buying the 0.74 one, but I was wondering if I could find another a little bit smaller (0.6-0.65) and with a better color. And similar price.

Could someone help me finding one?

Thank you very much!

(I don't discard the 0.74 yet, it seems very good)

Can I ask why you want smaller? You originally wanted 1ct

I live in spain and I noticed that for spanish people an smaller diamond would be bigger than most of the ones in other engagement rings.

My gf ring size is 6.5

That crown angle is steep. Would like it between 34-35. Plus it’s coupled with a steep pavilion angle. The PA of 40.8 can be ok, but I’d need a shallower crown angle.

If you wait until a little after Valentine’s Day, the prices may drop a little.

Ok, thanks for the advice.

I wanted to buy before Valentine's Day because there is a 50% of disscount on settings. Would be worth to wait a little bit to buy?

Hard to say about pricing. Diamond market fluctuations are a bit unpredictable these days. You need to focus on a well cut diamond for your budget. Are you interested in any of the others that have been posted for you to consider?
