I have several eternity bands with diamonds of different sizes. Each is a different look with my other ring that has a center stone of just under 1 carat. I would have her try on different bands - some bands have a bolder look with larger stones. Sometimes bands with smaller stones look more in proportion with the other ring. It's all a matter of the look you are going for and how things appear balanced.
By the way, I much prefer eternity bands over anniversary bands as I don't need to worry about the ring spinning.
You can see my avatar to see what .16ish look like with a 1.08 pear. I think this has been discussed in the past
and most people thought .10 stones (or even smaller) for a 1 carat but like sky56 said, it depends on the look you are
going for.
It depends on the ring and the person's finger, but most anniversary bands spin on my finger, though Euro shank (squared off bottom) helps a lot to prevent spinning. I just like the simplicity of the eternity band - just put it on and not care which way it goes. My favorite eternity band has .17 point diamonds - a beefy look but still comfortable on the finger.
Hiya! My engagement ring is a 1ct RBC solitaire in a 6 prong white gold setting. My first wedding band is a half eternity comprised of 17 x 0.03ct RBC diamonds and I absolutely love it. My ring barely ever spins, though I do have it butted up against both, my second wedding band and my engagement ring at all times. I have a right hand ring with 8 x 0.10ct RBC diamonds but very rarely do I wear it with my engagement / wedding set. I find that the diamonds in the right hand ring are a bit too big and ultimately detract from my wedding set. I've attached some pictures - hope it helps!
I like the look of the 3 pointers! I like thinner bands, I think they add sparkle without taking away from the main stone. I wouldn't go above 5 pointers IMO.
In my opinion, 10 pointers is going to drown a 1 ct. diamond. I have a band with 10 pointers, and I don't even like it with my 1.6 ct. (7.6mm) diamond. Smaller diamonds on the wedding band makes the e-ring diamond stand out more. I wouldn't go over 5 points with a 1 ct. stone, and I think smaller than that would even be better. I wear the Tiffany Legacy 2mm band with my e-ring and it is beautiful and sparkly and does not take away at all from my e-ring diamond.
There's no right answer here, that's for sure! I too have a bunch of bands that I wear with my 1 ct solitaire. In my opinion .10's will not overwhelm - perfect choice!
Thin bands are utterly gorgeous, especially when magnified to huge proportions on Pricescope. In real life, with your hands be-bopping all over the place they don't register too well. I even have a 5 stone with .20's, but I think that's the max for a 1 ct solitaire to my eye.
Do you have a Tiffany's near you? They usually have a pretty good selection of wedding bands on hand and then your Fiancee can try on a few with different size stones in them. Personally, I think .03's or .04's look best with a 1 carat solitaire but it is my personally preference and how I like proportions. Even a dainty pave band would look fantastic with a solitaire. It's just best to see some in person to see which you all prefer!
I think anything from 5 pointers to 15 pointers is tremendous on a size 4-6 finger.
