Eternity Band/Pave Wearers

Do you actually USE your hand while wearing this ring? Like, holding keys, grabbing metal doorknobs, grabbing metal pots and pans, using steel wool, carrying plastic grocery bags that could snag on a prong or the head of a ring, holding anything metal, catching yourself if your little doggie runs out underneath you and trips you?

I find that because I am a nut I dont use my left hand with my rings on, no matter what ring Im wearing usually. My friend is the same way though she's completely sane...about her rings anyway. She just seems to think they will be in the way of whatever she's doing so she finds herself doing everything right handed.

My eternity bands are bezel set and only about .72? cts total each. I do everything in them. If I had larger diamonds that were prong-set, I''d worry a bit.

Mine is like Mara''s...4-prong set and its about .75tcw.

I hope that I mellow with time, but so far I haven''t mellowed at all with my E-ring.

I am just like you I am very careful with my eternity band and my ering. Once I am home I simply take them off, so I don''t have to worry about them. It''s funny as much as I love jewelry I don''t love wearing my rings 24/7.

I alternate between my rings, but I do find that when I am wearing my eternity or my 3 sided pave ring that I am more careful with that hand. However, I wear my 3sided pave on my right hand most of the time, and I''m right-handed, so it''s hard not to bang it

I don''t know if I am any more or less conscious...but I do notice the times I really bang my ring (it makes a noise) so I guess I am conscious of it at least...I don''t do more or less with my right hand vs left...but I do try to be more careful slightly with the left hand..I think it just is subconscious after a while, the first 6 months or so I was probably a nut...but now after about 3 years..I know how hardy the rings really are! I''m a klutz too!

I just had to hope I wasn''t a nut. I find myself making strange hand "gestures" hoping to avoid a smack. I made the mistake of wearing it to a friend''s house because she wanted to see it and tripped over her animal and caught myself unfortunately with that hand on her brick wall outside. I think I missed the rings, luckily, and after a couple extremely thorough 30x inspections Im finding no damage. Or Im missing damage if it''s there.

when I had my pave eternity rings (before they had to get sent back to be remade 10x), I conciously would avoid using that hand. I''d do everything one handed. i had to stop wearing them at work because I would be so afraid I would bang them agaisnt my equipment. in fact, im just afraid to wear them period!

I take mine off when i''m at home, which is sad b/c with two toddlers that''s most of the time lol..
