I need fall color scheme help!

Due to timing issues ( we don''t have the money to get married much earlier than October, I can''t take off work in November and pushing things into 2010 seems soooo far off to get married) we are pretty much set on an October 2009 wedding.

The problem we are having is what colors to use. All the combos that I really like are too springy I think...

Our current front runners are deep red, brown or teal and bright green but neither of these feel quite right for various reasons. The wedding will be fairly formal and we are shooting for a classic look with a modern twist.

Any ideas?

We''re doing light teal, burgundy and chocolate brown for our September 08 wedding. Love-them.

Well, just because the wedding is in the fall doesn''t mean the color scheme has to be identifiably autumnal. What about 1. black, 2. champagne / beige/ cream, and 3. a bright popping colour of your choice (deep wine? tiffany blue? plum?)? That''s classy, elegant, versatile, and fun for all seasons.

For our fall wedding we are using a brown (not chocolate because it photographs to dark and looks black for some reason) and cream/ivory for our basic colors. Then I am just incorporating olive greens, shimmery coppers, and wine colors where ever. Just play up the fall colors and add a pop where you want.

Oh I have the LOVELIEST ann taylor add with this amazing color scheme. I don't have a scanner though. I'll have to get home and see what I can do with the digital camera.

Mine will be brown and red.

My friends who have had fall weddings have had the following colors:

brown and orange
brown and sage green
pear green and red

Ann Taylor does have some beautiful espresso dresses that I would love for my girls to wear, specifically the two styles (one is strapless the other has a v neck) that are espresso and have this champagne looking part that sticks out at the bottom... know what I mean? But I''m so sad because I just found them yesterday and the only have the color I would need in like size 00! It sucks cause they''re the right price, style, colors.... just the wrong timing I guess.

For your coloring I agree that they don''t have to be fall colors just because you''re getting married in fall! I love the suggestion of black, champagne and a bright color of your choice. And I want to add that really any color can seem fallish in the right shade and fabric.

rust and an icy blue - my dress is a champaign color with heavy white lace and beading

We''re getting married in October of this year, and our color scheme will be burnt orange, orange, and... well, orange. Realistically speaking, we''ll have accents of gold, sage green, and rust-red. Orange will dominate, though. In fact, October was our first choice month largely because we (and when I say we, I mean I

) REALLY wanted an ORANGE wedding. It ends up looking a lot more beautiful than one might think when you hear the word "orange."

Here''s a little collage I put together during the beginning of my planning process, and I''ve kept it updated as decisions are actually made/dresses actually bought, etc. I''ve found it IMMENSELY helpful as far as visualizing all the elements as a whole event.

Musey, I''m planning on an orange wedding too!! In September or at the end of August though so orange and green (which sounds really ugly but I think it will be lovely) . Here''s the bouquet. If we can''t find white peonies, then white english roses or dalia''s will be subed. But I''m holding out (as expensive as it will be, it''s one of my splurges) for peonies.

I''d go with the colours that you like, even if they are a bit springy. The purple that I''m hoping for is a real deep purple which I''m going to go with anyway even though it''s more a fall/winter colour, much to the dismay of my FMIL. If you do want to go with more fall colours, I love browns, deep purples, orange, deep reds.

I just have to say, I absolutely LOVE those bouquets from that Ann Taylor add! Gorgeous!! I really really want them for our wedding now!

I love chocolate brown, tiffany blue, cream and gold or copper!

I got married Oct 21, ''07. Instead of the traditional fall colors of orange, brown, red, yellow -- none of which are me at all -- I had sage, ivory, and peach to russet tones. It''s still sometimes quite hot in Texas in Oct, and I didn''t want to over do the fall theme. The color scheme was perfect for my "rustic elegant" wedding at an inn that had mostly white walls, woodwork, and chairs.

I''m getting married this fall in Carmel but I''m doing pinks and blues. Since it''s warm here at that time I''m picking colors based on the theme I like instead of the season.

We got married November 3, and we had: ivory, gold, and rust (with very small brown touches). Our invites were terra cotta colored, the MOH dress was rust, and the groom and best man wore black suits with rust colored ties for the best man and FOB, and the groom wore an ivory tie. My flowers were freesia, calla lilies, roses and hypericum berries (with some ranunculus), a mix of orange and cream. I couldn't have loved my flowers more!
