Okay ladies, I've decided to do my own makeup for the wedding. I'll of course have some professionals help me out and show me what to do so I look okay in photos, but I think buying the makeup and doing it myself will be the best route for me. Plus, I can mix and match brands.

So... what's your favorite makeup product(s)?

I'm a fan of Bobbie Brown's long-wearing gel eye-liner. I apply it with an angled brush so I can get the inner rims of the eye-lid.

ETA: I also love Benefit's Benetint, a rose-tinted lip & cheek stain.

BTW, for those M.A.C. fans, they are having a sale on their website where everything is 25% off online.

I love smashbox primer (I use the green tinted formula to counteract redness) and benefit bad gal mascara. And of course my Shu.

For a foundation primer, I like Cover FX''s Clear Prep FX - a primer with salicylic acid to prevent acne. Too many primers just clog your pores, but this one treats acne!

Ulta makes a great brow pencil - one side is a waxy material that is easier to use than brow gel (IMO), and the other is a color pencil for filling in. I had never used a brow pencil before I started doing trials for my wedding, so I''m not sure if this is a common thing or not, but it''s pretty cool.

For blush, you can''t go wrong with NARS org**m (am I allowed to say that on PS? LOL)...but Ulta''s Afterglow is a cheaper look-alike.

The Sephora lady used a really cool stippling brush (#44) on me, but I didn''t buy it because I was told it was hard for makeup noobs like me to blend. But if you''re well versed in makeup, give it a try. I''ve actually heard the MAC 187 brush is better, but as I haven''t used it, I can''t give a recommendation.

Everything else I''ve been using is a complete mishmash of products, so I can''t recommend a particular one. Good luck!

MUST get laura gheller mattifying gel/lotion to use under and over your foundation

Diorshow mascara... waterproof of course!

MAC specially paint pots [cake free]

Just discovered Avon MagiX perfector, colorless base that minimizes pores/flakes/lines and holds back shine, I mix equal parts of it with my oil free foundation for a natural day look, as for eves/pictures: light application of MagiX then foundation, that stuff is amazing $10

Forgot to mention earlier, Skindinavia''s Primer and their Bridal Makeup Finish. Make-up stayed on all day and night in the Mexican heat and I didn''t need to touch up except for lipstick!

NARS blush in orgasm

love urban decay''s primer potion! it''s silicone based, so you can''t tell it''s on, plus your liner/shadow will not budge.

I''m also a big fan of using individual fake eyelashes - avoid the big strips of lashes - it can look too 1960''s. Just add a few lashes on the outer corners, and use tweezers to make things easier. If you''ve never tried fake lashes, seriously give this a try. It''s subtle, but gorgeous and will last all night (use Duo Lash glue).

Here are the steps I like to follow, for a very natural look:
1) urban decay primer
2) eyeshadow
3) eye liner
4) eyelash curler
5) one light coat of mascara
6) apply lashes to each outer corner, in uneven numbers, then let them dry
7) second coat of mascara!

I love MaryKay mascara. It''s the only one I''ve used that I don''t end up with circles under my eyes.

I also like boi~ing concealer and eye bright from Benefit cosmetics. I look bright eye''d and blemish free after using them.

I like makeup by Fresh, you can find it at Sephora and a few other Department Stores as well as at www.fresh.com

I love it because it is not oil based and stays on for a while, but also because they have a really great array of colors and I don''t ever worry about that line at my jaw (I hate that makeup line some people wear!).

It also doesn''t make my face breakout.

Hope you find something soon!

I love Bare Escentuals for foundation. Eyeshadows, I use NYX for amazing color much cheaper than M.A.C. I do use M.A.C Painterly Paintpot in Soft Ochre for my primer/base.

YSL Touche Eclat, love this stuff, used it for yonks, it rocks.

I second Nars Orgasm blush and Urban Decay Primer Potion, and especially Smashbox Primer.

DiamondsforDee: I wanted to use the green tinted one, but thought it would make me look too green! I guess you like it? Do you put it on just the red areas or all over?

Clinique High Impact Mascara is awesome. I''ve just got the curling version which is pretty good, but I think I prefer the original. The nice thing is you can build it up from natural looking (one coat), to super dramatic adult video eyes, depending on taste. I love their kohl eye pencils too.

I''ve just started getting into MAC makeup and everything I''ve gotten has been great so far (blush, blot powder - great if you get shine). Just practise a lot first because their pigments are strong, you don''t need much to go a long way.

Estee Lauder has pretty tinted lip balms that add glossy colour without being over the top.

I''m not sure what type of skin you have, but I''d definetly rec wearing a primer. You''re going to have pictures taken all night and want your makeup to stay fresh! I love the smashbox light primer.

Also, I will warn you that you''re going to look more washed out in photos than in real like. For this reason, color, especially blush or bronzer, can be applied with a little heavier of a hand.

Do your eyelids get oily ever? If so, I''d rec an eye primer as well.

take a pic of yourself wearing the makeup before the big day! i loooove the in person look of my bare minerals, but i ended up buying makeup forever hd foundation for my engagement pics, bc bare minerals makes me looks VERY shiny and washed out in pics!

this is not a makeup product, but something i bought at cvs last week and am now in LOVE with. it is olay glycolic peel/mask. it is warming and for daily use. it has shrunk my pores and makes my skin so soft!!!

I have oily skin, so I''m definitely going to get a primer. I''ve heard good things about smashbox light... maybe I''ll try that. What eye primer have you used?

I''m concerned about the green tinted primer too. It blends in to look natural?

So after all the positive reviews here, I decided to get the Nars Duo of Orgasm/Laguna (blush/bronzer). But the brush they sell is just too expensive for me to justify. Can anyone recommend a source of affordable blush brushes?

i did my own makup for the wedding. i used:

mac studio tech foundation
mac blotting powder
mac eye shadows
nars orgasm [+ i recommend the bronzer]
fake eyelashes
kevin aucoin "the mascara"

a daily must for me is my Urban Decay Eyeshadow Primer Potion. My shadows never crease anymore with this stuff. They have a plain one and a shimmer one. Both are awesome.

Favorite mascara is good ''ole Maybelline Full & Soft Waterproof.

I second both the Bobbie Brown and Benefit!!! The gel eyeliner goes on sooo well with the correct BB brush, and the BB brushes are SO NICE. As for *other* Bobby Brown products- eh. A lot of my powder ones break easily

Benefit''s Benetint AND Posietint are AWESOME.

I''m also DIYing my wedding makeup: I''ll likely be using Smashbox photo finish primer, MakeUpForever Matte finish full-coverage foundation, my Bobbie Brown gel eyeliner, Benetint for my lips (it wont fade or rub off- Benetint + Chapstick= AWESOME), Nars blush, and... the worlds best mascara ever... DIOR-SHOW!!!

Oh my gosh. I seriously feel like a tool... Nearly Every.Single.Makeup product I named was already named by someone else

i''m been dying to try dior show! everyone keeps raving about it! what do you love about it?

Musincy, regarding eye primers....a few years ago, I accidentaly discovered that MAC paints make the BEST primers. I have very oily eyelids, and everything else that makeup artists swore to me was creaseless (benefit creaseless creme, bobbi brown pots, mac paint pots) creased on me. MAC paints make my eyeshadow stay put until I wash my face.

Make sure you get the paint in a small tube, not the paint pot. The color I use is called untitled, and it matches my eyelid color perfectly, but there''s a few different flesh toned colors. Also, make sure to apply with brush for creme shadows. Good luck!!

For you Smashbox Photo finish primer girls...I''ve been using the photofinish light. Doesn''t the original one feel greasy? I put it on my hand and it felt super greasy, so I never wanted to use it...

I have used the Smashbox Photofinish light, regular and the green tinted one. The green tint didn''t show up at all. I have switched though to Philosophy - The Present. You let it set for 2 minutes and it really is magic. I love it. 1 tube lasts forever...I think my first tube lasted over 8 months because you don''t need alot.

I used Bare Essentuals eye lid primer and it really helps keep my eye makeup on and not creasing.

I second the opinion stated before that while I use BE Mineral Foundation daily, it does not translate well to pictures. For my wedding I switched to a regular foundation. I think I used a Lancome one.
