I LOVE the royal blue pair (first two pictures) but do not like the more teal color for a three stone. I am hoping those are two different pairs, but in the event they are the same but in different lighting, I'd try another pair. You are making me think about doing this with my stone!

They are two different sets of stones! They are both so pretty, but I agree on the darker blue. The teal ones are so unique and sparkly, though.
 
I agree, the first pair look best. The teal pair look less clear to me and I think that is the color, but the first pair stands out more
 
I love teal sapphires! But there is something about the classic royal blue with a diamond center!

I missed your other question earlier, but yes, I'd have Yoram cut side stones if I ever did it. But I am now considering the idea of sapphires. I have always wanted a sapphire and diamond 3 stone since I first saw the Tiffany version years ago. I just hadn't really considered putting them with the AVR until you showed me how good it looks!

What size are the sapphires in mm (both the small and the larger pairs)? Size of center stone in mm? And what color is your OEC?

My husband loves sapphires the most which is why I started thinking about it (and because matching side diamonds are SO hard to find). My OEC is 8.6 mm L color, and the royal blue stones are 5.5 mm. The teal pair is 6 mm. I actually like the 6 mm size better, so if I decide to do this, I’m going to get the blue in 6 mm, I think.

I do think this is beautiful. But if you really want all diamonds, I'd consider having Yoram cut them so you'd have the right color and matching diameters in the event you can't find a matched pair of old stones.

You have the EXACT same dilemma I have. An OEC solitaire with a diamond wedding band...so elegant and timeless. Can't go wrong with that! (Your OEC is beautiful, by the way!)

But...yes, a three stone is so beautiful when the right pair of side stones can be found! I love all diamonds, and I love the sapphires, too! In a way, I think I might do better with sapphires as it would be less bling. Plus, I just love blue, and sapphires are my birthstone. But would I miss the simplicity of the solitaire? ughhhhhhhh!!!!!! So I can relate 100%!!!!!

First world problems, right?? :lol:

I originally did the solitaire with the intention of stacking, but I can’t seem to ever make up my mind/be able to find the right things for stacking/like how things look when I stack them. And I really wanted a setting with more presence than just the one band and solitaire. And I have had A TIME trying to find matching side diamonds - I think it must be this time of year and Covid making things more difficult (I’ve tried Yoram also). Which has led me to sapphire side stones (and all of the other settings I might be able to do as pointed out in this thread!).
 
I like a lot of settings, but finding one I absolutely LOVE and think I'd be happy with as my final setting has been more difficult. I really have come to the conclusion that it's impossible, unless I buy another diamond so I can make more than one! :lol: However, my new rule is no more diamond rings unless I sell one!

I'll be very interested in what you decide! I do kind of like 3 stones best for your objective, though!

Thank you so much for the opinions! I love a lot of settings also, but so many that I love wouldn’t work with my band which has been a dilemma. My band was an anniversary gift to me and came at a very special time, so it is super meaningful and I won’t ever take it off or change it. I will definitely keep you posted!
