Anyone else experience anything like this? Did it bother you? Amuse you? Was it just a phase? Anyone, feel free to weigh in, lol!
Can''t imagine why it would!

My husband has never "called" me anything real... only nick names. It''s weird when we call each other by name, and I would never "call" him a title. When he introduces me, it''s by my first name. I know that when he refers to me to those who wouldn''t recognize my name, when I''m not present, it''s by title - the correct one (girlfriend when I was the girlfriend, fiance when I was the fiance, wife now that I''m the wife).

I''m with those who don''t like the word fiance. I also never liked to say "boyfriend," it sounded so juvenile. Come to think of it, I don''t like saying husband, because it makes me feel like I''m inviting the "you''re married?!?!!! What are you, 14???" comments

I actually find it quite funny, and after 6 years of dating, if that's how he shows his enthusiasm and excitement, then that's great with me! I can, however, see how some women might be bothered by it. Honestly, what he calls me doesn't change our relationship.

And your age comments are funny! When we were at my family reunion, anyone that met FI when I wasn't around asked him how old he was, and if he wasn't as little young to be dating me!

LOL!!! (he's 6 mos older) I can only imagine WHAT they were thinking once we said we were engaged!

(and I still get asked if I'm 20, so you can imagine how young we both look, lol!) He's 27, and I will be 27 this month!

I honestly think that I look my age, but everyone seems to disagree with me.

My husband always has people thinking he''s older, mostly because of his position at work and professional demeanor as opposed to his actual appearance.

S calls me "fiance" when we''re home. "Hey there fiance!" However, we''re in the process of buying a house and he forwarded an email from our mortgage guy that asked S to "ask your girlfriend ''yada yada yada''......." I said "girlfriend?!?" Why didn''t you tell him we''re engaged?!?" His honest answer: "I wasn''t sure how to spell FIANCE."

Then he asked if it started with an "F" or a "PH." *facepalm*

I have no idea how that man managed to graduate college.

we have nicknames for each other. we don''t call each other by our first names.

but when speaking to others, we often refer to each other as husband and wife.
"I better get off the phone or my wife will kill me..."
"I''ve lost my husband. Have you seen him?"
also we find it easier to say husband/wife when we''re traveling to non-English speaking countries.

because everyone knows I''m engaged when people ask me about him they often say, "Oh, is your husband from South Africa?" but I still say fiance once in a while.

Well, we were out with some of FI's co-workers yesterday, and I will say that the word "Fiancee" garners a lot of attention... though this could just be because some of them knew that the proposal had been recent. But I was excited that people were asking about my ring and complimenting it! I think FI was proud, he was getting kudos and thumbs up from women and men on his ring selection! I'm not going to lie, it feels really good to be enfianced... I feel much more validated somehow, and very happy about it! FI totally invited me out so that he could 'show off his new fiancee!' And he kept checking to make sure I was referring to him as FI and not BF, lol!
