Finally found the center stone for my ruby sides:)

The amethyst I bought online specifically for my ruby sides arrived! Look at the colour combination, I don't kid you, it's a lot brighter when removed from the gem box. I'm surprised that they match so perfectly in terms of size that I would have gone ahead with this combi if not for this peridot below.



But it's sold.

I couldn't find a matching tsav, so I'll end my search with either setting the rubies with the amethyst or a future peridot.

Which do you think is a better combi, assuming a similar peridot is available?

I love the combination with the ammy, Snowyrin! It is really chic & stylish. Not sure rubies & a peridot wouldn't clash too much -- with the blue-ishness in the red rubies & the yellowishness in the peridot, you might lose the best of both. JMHO, of course.

Dangit. That is the third time someone posted a stone of interest that I had already bought, and they were all Jeff's stones. The peridot arrived yesterday and there is a picture of it at the end of my "stackers are done" thread in case you're curious. That said, I really think they look great with the ammy! I love unconventional color combinations!

All is fair and square when it comes to gemstones in that "the fastest person gets the stone". Don't feel bad for not being able to snag it (yes, it does hurt but a better one will come along, I promise) and don't feel bad for buying a stone that someone else was eyeing. We've all had our shares of both experiences.

I am not sure if I should say this because I'm the only one so far who doesn't like this red + purple combination. Individually, the stones look great but not so together. They seem to blend too well so that no particular stone stands out to me. I don't think the peridot will work either because there is too much contrast. I'm so sorry for the negative opinion on this colour combination, especially since you sound very excited about it.

Laurie- thank you for your input! You have been really helpful since my 1st thread where I requested for help on the center stone after buying only the ruby sides. I had a hard time since Virgos don't leave things incomplete and it's such a torturous experience that I won't dare to do another 3 stones ring of different colour in the near future.

Loverskite- I saw your entry on being the youngest in the forum, FYI I have a sister your age and I can't even make her love gemstones. Major FAIL. But I'm glad it's possible for someone as young as you to appreciate gemstones & jewelery.

Kelli- oh Kelli, I reached you finally. Jeff didn't inform me it's sold when I requested for an invoice for both the Ammy n peridot and even after he invoiced. Therefore I thot it was mine. It was abt 3-4 hrs later I'm informed thru e mail again it's sold. And I had to ask Jeff "why......" in a childish whining tone of course. I had to deal with the loss viewing his Pinterest on that particular photo with the word SOLD included this time. Ok, I'm exaggerating now. Truth is I didn't know someone from PS bought it faster than I do and I started this thread before I saw your latest entry on your thread. Forgive me for that. Now that I'm sure it's in a good hand and there's more photos on it I'm rather pleased and I let go. I have to say it looks better with your stacks. So, thank you for being a fast clicker.

Chrono- it's ok, we all have our preferences. It's rather a bright pink ruby don't know whether it will change your mind. I will return with more shots and maybe you can comment further on them! Thank you for being honest and we need you to stay this way!

Innerkitten- of course! Close up will be up real soon. But don't keep your expectation up there cos you won't see professional Freke-liked shots but some normal iPhone shots. Stay updated!

Yes! This is the combination I had imagined over and over in my head with the peridot that belongs to Kelli now. But never would I thot the emerald cut can be done in e-s directions. This way I could do a pretty big emerald cut actually.

Given the two choices, I prefer the combo with the amethyst myself, as the colour of the tsavorite is not sufficiently saturated for my liking.

Yes, they will be set by that one and only jeweler, but there's no bulk discount. still working on that. I'll try to post them just for you then, for being so sweet! With regards to your emerald cut tsav, I'm all excited to see your thread! Pls start one!! Before I found my ruby sides, what I wanted is a pink ruby center with tsav sides, guess I caved in to temptation and ended up with almost the opposite. However it create other combos I would never thot of without the help of PSers. So thanks everyone!

Finally had time to post more pics of the gems. V-day's bouquet also has the red and purple theme to it!


So I came up with an idea. Why not have a shot together. Then the collectors' nightmare strikes me, I loosen my grip and one of the tiny rubies went missing in the bouquet even before I get started with the photo shot. At one point of time, my mind went completely blank. The stone just won't drop out no matter how many times I overturned it. I started to panic and flashbacks of reading PSers missing their stones in between the sofa/dropped it in a pile of hay, etc started to appear scene after scene. THIS CANT HAPPEN TO ME!!!!! I feel so silly having to say," sorry guys, no close ups cos I've lost my stone." I started to imagine what I could do with one 0.25 carat emerald cut Ruby but to think of none. I gave up and realized that my only way out is to remove all wrappers and dismantle all flower arrangements. But phew... after much effort I found the stone inside.

So there's some actual colours of the stones under outdoor conditions. Not well taken but there's no way I can make all 3 stones stand neatly at the same time.
