Finally going to introduce myself!!

Thanks you guys!!!! I'm still trying to pinch myself. It seems too good to be true, but I'm rolling with it. I don't expect anything until after the first of the year. I have 1 year and a half left of school and i don't want any pressure to plan anything while I'm still in school. This just means I get to hang around this forum for a while and participate in all the fun topics.

wow that was quick! i'm happy you get to get that off your shoulders! did you guys already purchase it?

ETA: Don't worry about it being "preloved". All diamonds are old. And who can really guarantee the diamond a jeweler is selling us is really a "newer" one? They can just recut and repolish old diamonds for us, and we'd have no idea. And who doesn't love a good bargain, anyway? You seem to have lucked out!

Madelise: I think we did, SO told the jeweler he was not allowed to contact me anymore, and I am not involved. HAHA. I was the one that told the jeweler what we (I) was looking for..

Md123456789: Trust me you are not the bearer of bad news. SO and I went back and forth over which diamond to choose, the 1.74 or the 2.21. We saw both certificates, and I wrote down all the dimensions and everything. They were all in the range of what I read on pricescope to be true for asschers. I also had some help from gypsy before we went to train my eyes on what to look for in bad asschers. She would post some bad diamonds, and I would find what was wrong with them. She then came back and told me what I got right and what I missed. Trust me I am not a very trustworthy person when it comes to sales, but everything seems to be checking out. So for now I am just rolling with it.

Audball: Thanks Audball, I cannot wait to see my new (to me) old diamond in a setting and on my finger.

Also sorry I haven't posted back sooner today, Nursing school started and ive had my head in a book all afternoon after class. aaahhhhh

Wow I just saw your original thread w/ Gypsy. That's so awesome she gave you little quizzes to test your ability! Did you buy an ASET to do an ASET scope for the two contenders? Did you bring it outside, to normal sunlight, then to darker areas? Jewelry stores always have those horribly bright fluorescent lights that make EVERYTHING look absolutely gorgeous inside..

I don't want to post too much about that, though, b/c it seems like you and your SO already made up your mind and are purchasing. and if YOU love it, an ASET shouldn't change your opinion.

I hope you do come back to give us a million photos when you get'er back in ring-form!
