How about playing with surface finishes a bit (for the lilac one), for example trying out something in satin/brush finished WG? The additional grey coming from the metal that surrounds it might play up the color of the stone and make the lilac hue easier to spot. You can even have a frosted matte finish for a really white metal (almost as if you have diamonds set in it), and possibly some great color contrast.

I am thiking of small micro-pave white diamonds around it at this juncture. I don''t want it competing with larger white diamonds. While the rose gold above competes with it, perhaps, just a rose gold donut around the stone, and white everywhere else. I do like how the lilac shade appears more evident in the rose gold, but not a full rose gold ring. Thanks for all the suggestions. This will be one of my long term projects.

Lovely diamonds!! Just so tempted to venture toward the colored diamonds, but I must resist!!!!

Oooooooh, nice!! Is that a pink-brown?

Yes, I don''t mind those modifiers in colored diamonds.

Unfortunately, modifiers like brown still bother me in coloured diamonds. I’d rather a pale pastel of pure hue than something strongly coloured but with a modifier. Oh...my taste in coloured diamonds will never allow me to buy any.

Is that a black inclusion that is winking at me?

Platinumrock-that is a lovely oval! I too do not mind modifiers in colored diamonds either :)

I've been drooling over this little guy for awhile now! Alas, I do not have $12,500 to spend on a .22ct stone

Gaaahhh!!! Chrono, I didn't even see that booger until you mentioned it!

Now it's tainted.

TL and SCN, it's actually a 1.04 SI2 Light Brown. But I do see a hint of pink. I am also not ashamed to admit that I accept modifiers in colored diamonds. In fact, I NEED modifiers like gray, yellow or brown. Without them, I wouldn't be able to afford such stones, especially in the sizes I like. When I win the lotto, buy thousands of shares on a company that turns out to be the next Google in 10 years, turn 65 (no children with a fat IRA account), discover oil in my backyard or have an affair with Bill Gates (and have his child), I will be able to afford pure pinks, yellows, blues, oranges and yellows in the 2+ carat range.

Until then, modifiers are my best friend.

Ohhhh Mochi..... that oval light brown is listed for $1915 at fancydiamonds.net.

Although a bit too small for me for 12K....

I would love to own this in 4 cts, surrounded by a 22K YG Halo. Maybe even 22K RG?

Very pretty! I have been wanting to start a colored diamond collection but it is much more expensive the the colored stones. Your collection is beautiful!

The problem with fancy colored diamonds is that if you don''t get one with a modifier, they''re usually

Even top blue ones have some grey, and they''re super expensive.

Yes, you should probably stay away from colored diamonds, but they sure are prettier than the pictures would indicate.

TL - I love the dirrection you''ve decided upon - that setting sounds like it will be lovely!!! Once again - love your pics and they always tempt me to start looking at coloured diamonds . . . until I see the prices.

That .22 would be perfect if it was big enough to actually SEE the steps!

But, then, you know - I''d have to sell my house and my first born to get it!

Hey PR,
Anytime you need me to discourage you from getting any coloured diamonds, trust me to be the bearer of bad news. As to affording any intensely pure coloured diamonds, don’t forget having a Royal Saudi BF.

Hubba hubba, look at that orangish yellow diamond!

sounds a lot more exciting than having Bill Gates'' love child.

I love the cut of that one. Have to confess, I do have a chocolate marquise pendant on layaway. Does that count as a colored diamond??
