thanks everyone for the beautiful wishes! i am still in awe of our engagement, the ring, wedding plans, etc. i have gotten so many compliments, including ones from my mother who is quite picky about diamonds. nobody would believe that a J could be so bright and white. i like my current setting more and more, but it means a lot to him that we use the family stones.

here is what we are planning on resetting the stone with: new setting of course they would fit a cushion instead of the round. we''re talking to the jeweler tomorrow. i am excited but also nervous, not knowing what it will look like.

i will try to post more pictures with the current setting before it goes away, and of course the new one when the time comes

i am a BIG von bargen''s fan. you''ll probably be working with jason and julie thom; julie''s in the hanover store and jason is heading up the springfield store - both just the loveliest people. if you speak to jason, do tell him you''re on PriceScope - i''ve been trying to persuade him to take a more active interest here!

altho i loved your first setting, i totally get why you''re going with a barrett salzmann ring; i''d put his work on a par with leon mege and it''s a thrill to get one of his rings.

thank you all! well, as it turned out, we can''t use my fiance''s heirloom stones as they''re too big to incorporate into the band. we are still considering going with one of their suggestions, because neither of us are very happy with the height of my setting. in any case, i am looking forward to working with von bargen''s (whitby, i talked to jason thom, he was so great!) i''m so happy to hear great reviews from others! i was kind of nervous going with someone we didn''t know before, but their custom work is so beautiful and elegant. i hope it works out to get a setting from them, i''ll post pictures if and when i do!
