When i first saw that sapphire it took my breath away. Then saw it was sold and almost cried. THEN thought, oh well, it can''t look that good in real life.

Thanks Lauren! As for the close ups...I''ve been trying! I can''t seem to get anything closer than what I''ve posted...but my husband has a better camera (which I couldn''t find today) so I will have him try to get some better shots of the stone this weekend.

Hue: 6.5 (341) is weird. I know that GIA scales for tone are levels 1-10, and saturation are levels 1-6, and they would call "hue" what he called "color". You should ask the appraiser what color grading system he is using.

Thanks so much everyone! Who knew an impulse purchase would cause such a stir! But really, I highly highly recommend that anyone looking for a great stone consider a lighter sapphire. This thing has such flashes of light, it's amazing. I'm in love!

AND it's so nice to know that Jeff's fantastic pictures actually do show the stone pretty accurately. Other colored stone vendors seem to have great pictures and so so stones, but Jeff's picture of my stone is really it's color in person...it really DOES look that good!
