Searched through all the online vendors...maintained an excel sheet with details of tons of diamonds and finally ended up buying from Blue Nile. I love the ring...and the diamond. I got a really good deal from blue nile.... appraisal value is nearly double ...HAPPY!! Got $216 discount as well!..
James Allen or Blue NIle:
I was getting inclined towards James Allen - good diamond prices and while Bluenile diamonds were a little expensive comparatively. At the same time setting costs are higher at James Allen compared to Bluenile. I was planning to go for James Allen but my husband (who has been searching reviews of sites for me since...looooong ..) wanted me to purchase from Bluenile .... but in the end it was my choice! So i kept looking for stones at James allen along with Bluenile.
Deadline
I had to make a purchase by Feb end... because i was fed up and couldn't extend searching process into march!!
Final purchase NOT without complications
I found a good stone at Bluenile but it was expensive... my husband said - dnt worry about few 100$$$. We purchased it in a hurry. Well, i was not very excited. After 2 days i again went to Blue Nile site... to see if my hurried purchase cost me anything...YESSSSSS!!! it did!! there was a stone which was good, bigger and cheaper.... wow!! got angry with my husband for rushing me into buying. I called up Bluenile and asked them what stage was my order on...they said- ready to be billed!! Diamond mounted & ring ready to be shipped..... i told them i like another stone better could the old one-can it be replaced. She put me on hold....then i heard her say - Hope my putting you on hold did not make you nervous.... i said- Yes! a little. She replied- NO WORRIES- u will get the stone you like....i was happy and amazed at their customer service.

The diamond is H color but looks like a G. I love it!! The diamond shines like crazy...waiting for sun- has been raining since yesterday.... below are the pics:
