Finally picked one... opinions appreciated... thanks heaps!!

Re: Finally picked one... opinions appreciated... thanks hea

Did you get the idealscope image on it? Post it here if you did. Also, did you ask them if it is eyeclean from a few inches away/ It probably is, but you can easily see an inclusion near the table on the video.

Re: Finally picked one... opinions appreciated... thanks hea

I've requested ideal scope images and still waiting for it. Thanks for your advise and I will ask them if its eyeclean.

Thanks again!

TRASH!!!! It scored a 3.0 on the HCA! Absolutely not! Unless cut isn't that important to you. I'd suggest this one. It's about $5,900 after the discount and scored a 1.3 on the HCA. I'd put it on hold request an idealscope and make sure it's eye clean. It's also bigger!

Edit: Or this one. Scored a 1.8 on the HCA and will come to about $5,400ish:

Which one? I like the second one more because the first one has an inclusion on the table which would bother me but the second one has a smaller table which I love. But it's also a great price!

Re: Finally picked one... opinions appreciated... thanks hea

I like the second one... asking JA to send me idealscope images.. will post it once available : )

Re: Finally picked one... opinions appreciated... thanks hea

Any other recommendation?

3 is not a bad HCA score. That particular diamond does not look like trash.

Re: Finally picked one... opinions appreciated... thanks hea

JA says as it is a VS2 so its eye clean. Is it ture?

Re: Finally picked one... opinions appreciated... thanks hea

The majority of VS2 are eye-clean.

Re: Finally picked one... opinions appreciated... thanks hea

I wouldn't call a GIA Excellent cut stone trash, either. But I would have personally eliminated it because of the large table. I almost never use the HCA. But if you'd post here before putting stones on hold, people here could probably find the three best ones for you to ask about and request idealscope images. They'll only do three. So be careful before selecting the last contender!!!

Re: Finally picked one... opinions appreciated... thanks hea

You cannot tell anything about inclusions by these very enlarged videos and photos.... your eyes do not have magnifying glasses of that scale on them. Only JA can tell you how the inclusions look in real life.

Well that's the first time I've ever heard that!!! Plus, it had VG for most of them and only good for scintillation... I was always under the impression that that would be terrible and still am. I wouldn't buy anything over a 2 on the HCA. But, as I said earlier, if the OP doesn't mind it and cut isn't a priority that's obviously his call.

Re: Finally picked one... opinions appreciated... thanks hea

2-4 HCA is "Very Good." After 4, I definitely do not recommend.

The 2-3 range can look as good as your usual 1.3-1.5 HCA. Yes, usually you are losing some diameter but if the discount makes up for it, that is fine.

Re: Finally picked one... opinions appreciated... thanks hea

The original stone had a great diameter for a 1 ct., almost 6.5mm. But I agree, we recommend stones between 2 and 3 quite frequently when all the factors look good. I personally eliminate tables too large (over 58) and stones too deep (my limit is 62.3). But certainly, if there are 3 contenders with that 34-35 crown angle and 40.6-41.0 pav. angle and table and depth are good, those would be the easy and best choices.
