Let me start off by thanking everyone who has helped me through this long and painful process. I began looking for a ring probably at the start of the new year. At that time, my girlfriend was still in Shanghai, and I was in Chicago. I didn't want to make my final decision without her approval so I waited and waited... She finally came to visit March and we've been looking at rings/diamonds since.
With countless questions, and posts on pricescope, we finally purchased a ring monday. With the help of all of you guys, I settled on a ring from bluenile with the following specs:
1.20, G, VS2, GIA ex, 0.8 HCA.
The setting is a Pave 0.5 ct platinum.
We finally got the ring today and Blue Nile appraised it for 17k... (obviously taken with a grain of salt). We plan on taking it to an independent gemologist first thing next week.
Even though this has been one of the longest, most expensive journeys, so far everything has been wonderful. We can't thank you enough.
Here's a pic I took without my GF since I told her she could help but I won't give it to her until after the proposal. She can salivate over the pictures
Took this at home just now. Now I just have to plan the proposal...
