I have seen very few rubies here in PS. I am perfectly aware that fine, gem quality rubies are rare and expensive. But we sometimes get fine spinels, tsavorites, sapphires and others that are also rare and expensive. There are many threads about sapphire e-rings.

Sure, lead fill and other treatments abound, which makes buying a ruby a pain.

Even so, where are the rubies? I need eye candy!

This will be a fascinating thread!!!

I''ll post pics of my star ruby e-ring when it''s finished (very soon, can''t wait

In the meantime, you can always post old pics of the ruby

Ok, LD...I went outside and took some pictures for you!

Some day I''m going to have a star ruby like yours!! It''s lovely...!!

This is a ruby necklace my hubby gave me a few Christmas back, before PS.

For comparison, you can really tell how pink the rubies on the necklace is compared to the ring.

Even the diamonds don''t really sparkle on the necklace...but I love it, any hoo...

I love both shades of red. I''d take a fine ruby over a diamond any day! (but, then again, I''m partial to rubies!).

Timmy''s beauty - took him 15 months to find...

Ooooo, gorgeous rubies! I have two rings that include rubies in them. The first is a ruby and diamond stacker ring........

Pretty stacker :)

My 6.5ct marquise bought loose:

And set ....

Pandora - when I grow up, I want a ruby just like that! I wouldn't mind the ring, either

Those claws are lovely!

LD, I used to think 6cts+ was too large for a ring, but that marquise looks very elegant.

I bought this because you very rarely see trilliant cut rubies. This is 2.9ct and hasn''t photographed well but the clarity is awesome.

3.64ct star Ruby
