Thanks MMT and Allison, for loking and your opinion. Either way, I will be happy to look at it every day, so I guess it''s no matter.

Looks fabulous! I too can''t wait to hear about your appraisal!

Jcrow and missismene - Thank you both for kind comments!

Erica - Of course your expert opinion is valued. You have FABULOUS jewelry, btw!

Actually, all the regular PSers seem to have wonderful pieces. Hope I can someday say that too.

Update on appraisal:
I wondered why I had not heard anything yet, so I called and learned the appraiser just had her baby, is in the hospital and will be off work for several days at the very least. This has forced me to make a decision to keep this stone or not, as my window of return will expires today and I still don't know all the specs. Was a little stressed about it at first, but realize all things turn out as they are meant to, and maybe I needed to make the decision based on my eyes, and not the papers. Sooooo I have decided to keep it, as I so

the way it looks. Just hope my sweetheart is satisfied after we do see the grades.
I spoke with another appraiser whi is very near Mr. Meyer, so we will have her do it ... dropping it off tomorrow. She does work for him and also the Ann McKay studio there. Fingers crossed....

Eta: Oops, I you must have posted just as I was writing, k9muttlover. Thanks for looking, as I will of course, update asap. Not sure how long the ring will take, though.

Sooo pretty! I can''t wait to see it set!!

Butter, amen to that.

Stones are meant to be appreciated with the eyes. The paper only gives an idea about valuation, but it cannot tell you if your eye thinks it''s beautiful.

From the photos you posted, it looks amazing. Don''t worry about "labels". Especially in older cuts, it''s all about how the stone appeals to your eye.

Allison, thanks so much for putting my mind at ease, my eyes DO find it beautiful. Guess that''s what counts with all jewelry, right?
Photography is a hobby, but usually it''s nature and wild animals ... this diamond proved to be a big challenge. Took many, many photos trying to get the pattern clearly and ended up with only one that I could call presentable. No more pics til it''s set, I''m afraid. More later...
