I looooooooooooooove that dress!!!! I have it in my folder of fave gowns! You look absolutely stunning in it!

Don''t let the seamstress tell you it should be that low; put it wear you feel comfortable in it. I agree with the rest that it could come up some.

On a side note, I asked my seamstress to do a little extra something on the top of my dress. She did as I asked and then I asked if she could make it bigger. So I had to make a third trip and you know, I didn''t like it! She never stopped smiling and supporting me the whole time. I went back a fourth time and she took out all the work she''d done and that was the final fitting. My point is, don''t worry if your seamstress thinks your crazy! She''s probably gone through this with a lot of bridal alterations so she won''t think anything about it.

Selflove,

Thank you. That makes me feel so much better! Sometimes it is just hard to tell how it is supposed to be when you are right there! I guess it would be crazier to pay for the dress, and not speak up when it was being altered, and then it wouldn''t ever be right. Sometimes I don''t speak up enough, but it is just so important to me that this be perfect. The good thing is the alterations are fairly simple, so if I can just get her to pin the dress in the right position (which shouldn''t be a problem) Everything should be fine. I hope that she does a really good job. Alot of people reccommended her from the Knot...It is scary to let someone alter your dress.

Oh Man,
You really do look better than the model! It is really gorgeous!
Are you saying that you want the waist to be higher? I kind of like
the dropped waist look...
But you need to like it, is more the point.
Honestly, you do look like a princess.

Tybee, Thank you! I still want the waist to be dropped, just not quite so much. I am not talking about altering anything in the body of the dress though. Nothing will change at all with the look of the front of the dress. When I put it on at the shop she pinned it on me, and the entire dress just needed to be tugged up just a little higher. No complicated alterations. Just pulling up the entire thing before it it sewn. Otherwise if I lift my arms, I think I will practically pop out of the dress. I do like the dropped waist, but I think the entire think just needs to come up about 1-1.5 inches. Tiffany

It''s weird how the dress looks white on you but in the mirror is looks ivory, what color is? Also, I was wondering if the waist part looks lower because you are smaller waisted than the model...WHICH IS SO NOT FAIR!!!!

It is weird how the color looks different. I think it might be because of the flash. The dress is slightly ivory, or pearl color in real life. I don''t think it''s my waist size that makes it look lower, I think it just is. The fact that you can see the top inch of the back of my strapless bra is not a good sign. It''s not a really low backed dress, so technichally, I think you should be able to wear a strapess bra if you wanted to...

You and your dress are both gorgeous!

Gorgeous dress! You look beautiful!

beautiful! i agree with pullling up the dress just a tad, otherwise...perfection!

I noticed that too, Caribou, the different color.

I love the dropped waist. I was thinking you meant bring it up on the chest. When I look at where the top is on you measuring from armpit, compared to the model, your''s is a good inch or two lower than the model''s. But I hope that doesn''t raise the waist.

Gotta speak up to the seamstress! When I went in I had two dresses and so my attention was sort of unfocused. She did a french bustle on the LA-dress and at the time I was like "whatever, looks good" but we didn''t even try the traditional bustle and now I wish I had asked to compare the two. But I''m not losing sleep over it, just a tiny detail that in the grand scheme of things makes no difference (plus it''s in the back where I don''t have to look at it!).

Selflove,

Bringing up the dress in the chest would bring it up in the waist too, because I would literally just be pulling up the entire dress higher. The waist would still be dropped, just not quite as much. I have a slightly long torso, so I have a feeling that most dropped waist dresses will not be quite as drop waisted on me. I am going back the day after Easter, so I will post pics of the next fitting. I really appreciate the feedback! I don''t know what I am going to do about the bustle. The woman I bought it from is ( I think) exactly the same height with heels as I am. Which means that I might be able to use the hem length the dress already has, and her bustle. I guess I should probably do some research though, and make sure that is what I want, there are so many different kinds. Any bustle suggestions? Tiffany
