First time buyer needs help!

Hello everyone,

I am planning to propose to my beautiful girlfriend in the coming months and I have come to the conclusion that I will get a much better deal buying from a reputable online dealer for the ring and diamond.

My budget is around USD $3000, I have found a ring which I know my girlfriend will love from MDC diamonds, does anyone here have any experience buying from this seller?

The ring itself is $650 and was hoping to get around a 0.70c diamond for it.

I would love some feedback on the following diamond, priced at $2447
The below image is 10X magnification and I have been told it is eye clean.
I live in Australia so no matter where I buy from (local is too expensive) I wont be able to see the diamond in person until i have purchased it!

So any feedback is welcome, initially i was going for a SI1 but I have been assured that this diamond is eye clean, and a 0.70 or larger would be better, but not compulsory for this style ring.

Can you ask them for a straight head on picture? An Ideal Scope if they have it?

Hi Julie, thanks for the reply.

I have already requested an ideal scope image and that is when they supplied the 10x photo, so i am assuming an ideal scope is unavailable.

I have e-mailed them for a straight-head picture as you suggested.

To keep my options open, I have noticed a lot of praise for the James Allen website so I have submitted a request on a price for a custom design similar to the ring listed, set with this diamond:

From my basic knowledge it appears a lot nicer for an extra $400... opinions?

I really could not say if it is nicer than your original, the picture is useless. But I don't like people unnecessarily blowing their budget so I picked some under 2500:
