I selected a stone and the new E was set into my ring yesterday. I know! Pics! I will!
Over the weekend, I will post pics of before and after.

I have pretty much accepted that this is just the first of upgrades for me. Hubby has been along for the ride and he accepts it as a hobby /interest and gives me 100% freedom to get what I want. He even goes with me to window shop in Tiffany''s or look at branded stones in various stores around town. And I dutifully listen & learn about motorcycles ... the valves, the pipes, the sizes ...

I decided to keep the same size and go up in color so I could live with it for a while and find out what the color hoopla is about.
The new stone is an E and so far i have noticed that looking at it from an angle - it is like clear glass. It is truly beautiful!
the cut must be quite differnt because it throws off flashes. My old stone was more mellow and inviting. This one is a little aggressive!
It''s like staring at a lightbulb- you can''t look straight at it too long!
weird, huh?

Well, this is my way of dealing with boredom. This was financially easy for me, and it beefs up the trade-in value for future boredom-busters. At this point, I am probably commmited to my B&M though.
I was right at a financial tipping point where I could buy a new same-size stone from a PS-admired vendor and keep stone#1 as a pendant.
But, unless i win the lottery, I will not be able to go bigger without trading in the E.

What color was your original stone?

I would have gone for either G/H/I to try and get a bigger stone too! But that''s just greedy old me

Oh, the original was a J
And the original clarity was I1.

For the longest time I could NOT find any inclusions when i looked at the stone.

But gradually, I noticed a certain haziness when viewing the stone from the side. Eventually, I figured out those were the clouds and wisps. Face-up, it looked clear.

So .... I decided to get a sotne without a yellow-ish haze in the side view.

The E is an SI2, but it is SUPER clear. Even on the certificate, there are barely any marks. There is a feather way down near the culet, but that''s it.

Believe me, I considered several options, one of which was a larger stone. The main reason I stuck with this size is because my setting is a trellis and I recently had the prongs re-done by Quest and I hated to mess with it again so soon.

But I AM giving myself permission to go bigger in a year or two.

Here is the mounting I wanted to stick with. This is the J.
I bought Photshop recently and I think I'll play around with it again this weekend....
Mayeb learn how to NOT POST the biggest pic the world
