I am obsessed with flower clusters, and really want something flowery to wear to a friend's wedding in 3 months. I figured a pair of cluster earrings are probably more affordable than a pendant or a ring, so I will start with them.
I like these two variations of flower clusters:

The big difference between these two styles, A and B, is in the placement of the prongs, I think. Which style do you like more, and why? And which aspect do you not like about either or both of them?
I originally thought about putting 7 sparkly colorless diamonds in the cluster (like in B) so I wouldn't have to think about what color combo to put in. However, now I think diamonds might be safe but could be boring too. I think I could really use some help in the color combo department.. what gemstone and metal look amazing together? For metals, I like 18K white gold and 18K/14K rose gold. For gemstones, yellow, orange, brown, and yellow-ish green are out because warm colors don't look good on me. I like aqua blue, emerald green, purple, pink, ruby red, and light-medium blue. And I don't mind throwing some diamonds to go with the gemstones.
To make things more complicated, I don't know if I should do studs or dangles (with simple french wires). My head doesn't like to be poked by the stud posts, but I do like to have the earrings stay close to my earlobes, so they don't accidentally get caught in the car door like my hair or my coat
.. [On second thought, perhaps the studs are slightly better because the under gallery on the stock setting may be fairly plain unless customized ??] Any suggestions?
ETA:
I forgot to mention size.. As a reference, I tried on CZ studs before, and the 6.5mm one looked a tad too big on me. So I am thinking the clusters probably shouldn't be much bigger than that.
